do these even exist? do any of y'all wear one? are they more annoying than helpful?

I seriously thought abt making one for myself – I am p sensitive to light waking me up so I usually sleep with a pillow over my head. It gets pretty stuffy in the summer.

I have seen people use these.

Slept beside someone who used these for about a year. She was very light sensitive, when she got one it was awesome, cause I got to read and she got to sleep. She found it very comfortable, and I'd use it on occasion for naps; liked it alright.

My wife wears one because she is really light sensitive and yeah, I like it because I can stay up reading after she falls asleep. Never tried it myself.

I use one on the plane for long flights. Just cannot sleep on planes for some reason. But for regular sleeping I'm fine.

I became light-sensitive by accident! I started covering my face with a soft blanket that I like to sleep with, and noticed how much warmer and quieter it was to have my had wrapped up. Haven't used one of these masks...yet.

my gf has one she never uses. now that i'm "self-employed" and have been known to sleep in some weekdays, i've employed it a couple of times.

This is totally silly – but the whole reason I haven't bought or made one of these is I am afraid without the weight of having a pillow over my head, I would wake up and think I was blind. Which...seems silly, now that I type it out once. I just don't like surprises when I wake up. One time I slept in a small closet and woke up convinced I was in a coffin.

Yeah I feel you Abbbottt. The first time I used it on the plane, I fell into a pretty deep sleep and woke up really fucking confused about why I couldn't see, on the verge of a mild panic attack until I remembered I was wearing the eyemask.

I do the pillow and/or blanket thing over my head too even though I've secretly always wanted a fabulous mask and tassel earplugs to go with a la Holly G:

remember when they used to give these out on the plane? to everyone? for free (with the price of your ticket)?

When I flew Qantas from LAX to Sydney, they handed out little packs that included a pair of slippers and one of these masks. I actually used it on the flight.
