It's a man doing the thing where you try to mask your voice by speaking really slowly in a monotone, like a weird robot. you can hear trucks going by on the interstate and he says something about the first of april and how it really will be an april fool's day if he's not there, or something?

It's really scary, and she's alone for a month because her husband is out of town on tour. She thinks it would be a bad idea to call the cops because there's no explicit threat in the message.

She had it traced via one of those reverse lookup things on the net. It's a pay phone.

She wants me to stay with her tonight and I'm scared. I'm also scared for her to be alone, though!

Yikes.

Have her over to your place!

Seams like the setup for a fool's day prank. Next time the guy calls, she should tell him to "fuck off"

And tell her to buy a gun for the house.

She doesn't want to come to my house cause she has like 100000 pets, but I told her she could bring them.

xp yeah i was thinking about that as a setup for a prank, and it's most likely that it's that, but it's also really scary that that is the day before her husband gets back

her husband is doing something important on april 1st and definitely would not be home, and she definitely would be because he is doing something televised

its just really scary!

rox, do you know if she asked him any questions? if so, did his answers accurately correspond to the questions asked? did he mention anything specific about her life that would indicate that he knew her beyond a phone number and/or name?

- Get her over to your place!
- Call the police. Doesn't matter if there was no explicit threat. It's too much of a risk.
- Even if it turns out to be someone having a "joke", that person needs to learn that scaring people isn't funny.

i ask cuz my aunt got a really fucked up prank call the other day but after being on the line for a minute or so it became clear that it was like an automated thing where you just enter someone's phone number to prank them

the only thing is that reference to april fools day which is when her hub is gonna be on tv - but its also april fools day, so like it could go either way

i also thought - wait maybe its her husband pranking her? although thats really out of character for him and seems like something he would never ever do, the message does say something about april 1st and "if im not there" -- but he's already out of town and the payphone is an 865 number, so its in knoxville
