So, yeah, a sort of general conversation thread to chronicle our moods as we prepare to leave Planet Greenspun.

So, how are you doing? How's life? Is that a new haircut? etc.

jel --, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Well yeah, I just got it done this morning. I wanted sort of a bob shape, but now it's done I think it might be a bit square.

Ellie, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

life is very stressful and busy as I have to finish a report to give in on august 30th (though i have to give parts of the rough draft to my supervisor).

but hey, i got the recs to keep me company. I might even have one on the post tomorrow morning even (and I'll have to get on with making compilations for people).

Julio Desouza, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm okay despite. but nothing needs adding.

RJG, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Doing very well, looking forward to this weekend, preparing for the NZ trip -- yay life!

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

last one to leave fills the kettle with gravel: this is the law

mark s, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Space Station ILXOR!

I'm doing fine, my new glasses are hurting my nose though. Just made tentative plans for trip to mainland Europe next summer, with main destination of Norway, so I can get all disorientated by the midnight sun.

jel --, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

ellie - post photos of the top of your head

life is ok, but i'm getting nervous about graduating from college next year. must apply to schools, fellowships, take the GRE, etc etc.

Dave M., Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I think that, from the pic I saw last night, Philip Greenspun doesn't look anywhere NEAR geeky enough, and I am sorely disappointed.

I think the new boards are much better, mostly because of that handy link between ILM and ILE in the top right hand corner. This is because I am a lazy arse.

Matt DC, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm scared about the new ILwhatnot, what is 'login'? would it be okay to use the word 'suet'?

rainy, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

excuse me if that is a stupid question, IRL I have been busy eating gravel and filling up my kettle with mouth error beetroot.

rainy, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

In commemmoration of leaving Greenspun, I would like to make the following statements/googlebait:

  1. Radiohead porn
  2. Bangbus
  3. Tankpuss
  4. Dang you are a very very bad mang!

Thank you very much.

j.lu, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Of course you can use suet. You don't have to log in, you can just post willy and nilly. If you log in you get your own settings, it remembers your name and email address, and other nice things.

Graham, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Just bleached out most of my hair today. I was afraid I was going to look like Limahl. I don't look like Limahl.

Douglas, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

shall we write a nice letter to Mr greenspun? something to say so long and thanks for all the threads, or somesuch, from the undersigned [link to statscock]

Alan Trewartha, Friday, 16 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah! we should leave a nice (in the sincere sense) note for mr.greenspun!

Oh and Mark, I think we should take the kettle with us, it works perfectly well and it would be a waste to leave it.

jel --, Friday, 16 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

summer is heating up my brain. (why do i feel like puretone is gonna start playing?) social life is way too packed which means less time on the internet and feeling like i haven't woken up. need...to...finish... kristeva's book despite HATING it. oh yeah i hacen't been able to finish any movie (always a sign that soc. life is too packed heh). oh yeah did see The Others which was sorta okay-ish. went to the doctor who said my bloodpressure is EXTREMELY low. well DUH i have been swimming through life lately.

nath, Friday, 16 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, I took a photo of myself to go on my pass so I can use the wonderful DOWNSTAIRS CANTEEN yayayayayayay it is WONDEROUS and I can't wait to have the chocolate pudding. My hair is very bright on it and I am very pale. Hmmmm. I supose I look STRIKING at best, TWAT at worst.

I have no plans for the weekend. Do you?

Sarah, Friday, 16 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm gonna see Eight Legged Freaks!

jel --, Friday, 16 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm going to Devon. Anyone who says this amounts to the same plan as Jel's will have me *and* Robin to deal with.

Tim, Friday, 16 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

that amounts to the same plan

Alan Trewartha, Friday, 16 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

chris, Friday, 16 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

drifting through a faint Dunedin haze as I pack everything up & say goodbyes (& prepare to r0xx0r Port Chalmers tonight!) . . .

Ess Kay, Friday, 16 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

How was Eight Legged Freaks?
My weekend plans involved a picnic & sports this afternoon & then hiking tomorrow; now they involve icing a very swollen sprained wrist. New plans for Sunday: ice wrist, sleep, read NY Times and make a mix CD.

lyra (lyra), Sunday, 18 August 2002 03:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I am in the process of moving to Chelsea (10011, not SW3, so do not hate me). This new ILXoR will complement my new life.

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 18 August 2002 04:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Felicity brings the NYC noise! Heya, do yer wanna meet up with us in Boston in October? :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 18 August 2002 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes!

felicity (felicity), Monday, 19 August 2002 03:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I never saw Eight Legged Freaks in the end, going next weekend instead.

mark s (mark s), Monday, 19 August 2002 07:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Yay Felicity! :-) Well, I will start a thread here at some point about Boston plans, and things will occur.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 19 August 2002 15:06 (twenty-two years ago)

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 10 September 2002 16:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Did anyone write Phil?

Graham (graham), Tuesday, 10 September 2002 16:44 (twenty-two years ago)

if you follow the lines, you will see that the rocket is being badly piloted!

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 10 September 2002 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)
