the biblical phrase "puffeth up" (as in "knowledge puffeth up") always confuses me and reminds me of puffins. like, how did the ancient Jews know about puffins, and why did they always speak disparagingly of them? sometimes I wonder if that's why I don't go to church anymore.

I almost did a project on puffins in elementary school, but then a schoolmate told me that they were dopey and that only babies liked them, so I chose to study flying squirrels instead. I've never really regretted it until now.

My dad bought family passes for us to the vac0uver aquarium for years when I was a kid, so my adoration of puffin cuteness is based in pure reality - they swim like lil champs! and i love them.
