I'm talking cheap, cheap. What are the best? It's my day off and I'm deciding whether I should go buy:
George Dickel No 8 ($12.99/750ml)Heaven Hill ($9.49/1-litre)Evan Williams Black ($11.99/750ml)
OR
Black Velvet Canadian Whisky ($14.99/1.75-litre)
Suggestions? I've never had a Canadian whisky before but you can't go wrong with that price (or can you?) Any other bottom-shelf recommendations?

Sounds like a fine day off whichever way you decide to go.

No fan of Canadian whisky here. The Evan Williams is a bit too acidic to my taste. I don't know the others, but would maybe take a run at the Geo. Dickel.

Yeah. Kessler's is decent stuff, iirc. Distilled in Cinncinnati, isn't it?

Or "blended" maybe is more accurate>

Rittenhouse 80 is pretty cheap in the US, isn't it? It's a very decent rye.

Can't find that Rittenhouse here in PA. Anyone had the McAfee's Benchmark Bourbon?
