it was a small ceremony hidden away on an experimental board, but it meant what it said

I've just been alerted to this by an old woman in a chatroom.

Thank you all very much. I had a marvellous day - a south London ramble from Xstl P to Beddington via Norbury and Mitcham Common, then a series of thrilling bus-rides in monsoon conditions.

A three-course meal courtesy of Lady P last night - starting with avocado and grilled halloumi. And even Dwayne Chambers remembered my big day.

My birthday book cried yesterday because it couldn't tell the world to wish Steady Mike & Miss Vicky lovely birthdays.

We both hope you both had a gr-eat/8/ate/ebt time.

Thank you, yes,I had a lovely time, despite being at work! I had a very long lunch, with 3 G&Ts, one of them being a double. Despite this I actually did do some work in the afternoon. Then after a few drinks in the pub after work we went to tottenham to see Celtic v Spurs. Because kings cross and euston were closed we had to get the bus, which meant we were 20 mins late, but that was ok, as it meant I didn't have to pretend to be glad when Spurs scored first (we were sitting in the spurs end). I think I did remarkably well covering up my glee when we equalised.

A lovely day was polished off with a gorgeous salt beef bagel and latka in the rain, going back home. unfortunately the last 15 mins of my birthday were horrible, as I had stomach ache from all the cakes I'd eaten at work during the day, but it did serve me right!
