Not a thread of judgment -- just curious how far any of us ilx0rs have gone, warranted or not.
Feel free to include how the other party reacted, but obv not required.

in college a girl came up to me and she said she heard i was more offensive than another kid and challenged me to offend her. I asked her "where do you want it, your ass or your cunt". She slapped me. That was the nastiest.
― Zero pumps, massive boner (thebingo), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 16:57 (fourteen years ago)
So where did you give it to her?
― Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 16:58 (fourteen years ago)
some fuckin cheek to slap you tbh
― the salmon of procrastination (darraghmac), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 17:04 (fourteen years ago)
Darragh, we've discussed how American women react to that word a million times. Sometimes I think the only woman in America to remain unoffended by and/or use the word 'cunt' in the sense of 'x is being a cunt' is... my mother. My sister, who used to offend me with precocious fuckswears, goes bananas when someone says it.
As to the nastiest thing I've ever said to another human being... hmmmm. That's gonna have to wait until after my deadline.
― a modest broposal (suzy), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 17:09 (fourteen years ago)
fair enough from that angle suzy, yes- but seriously, to slap someone after asking them to try to offend you does seem a bit much if all it was going to take was the 'c' word
― the salmon of procrastination (darraghmac), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 17:12 (fourteen years ago)
It's not just American women, either -- obv Chris would have used it b/c of a sense that it was unbelievably offensive. Also, have known really contrary types who usually delight in offending as many people as possible who have told me that "the c-word" is the only one they'll never use. So it's across the culture, with individual exceptions like suzy's mother, perhaps.

'all it was going to take' is bad phrasing there on my part, sorry

And this lady, she loves it:

TBH the degree to which I'm bothered by it depends on who says it and the way in which it's used.
― ENBB, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 17:16 (fourteen years ago)
Also, I agree with D here, I think. How can you ask to be offended and then get upset by it? That's just stupid - I don't care what words were used.
― ENBB, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 17:17 (fourteen years ago)
It's a really hard one to explain. My wife didn't know what it meant and I was trying to explain why it was offensive but just gave up. I never use it because it just sounds ugly..."bitch" is so much sexier

@ chris:
a girl with whom i went to high school was rumored to be horrified by the word vagina. we were kind of friendly, so one day i went up to her and said with total earnestness 'i was curious why you find the word 'vagina' offensive?' and she slapped me on BOTH goddamn cheeks, told me she preferred 'snatch' or 'cooter' and never talked to me again. i mean... what?

A long time ago, before I was an adult, I would occasionally lash out at someone. I usually only do it if 1) I feel attacked or threatened by that person 2) someone else was saying it behind their back and wouldn't "fess up", trying to stir up tension.
I always apologized and explained that so and so was saying stuff behind someone's back and that it upset me and that I don't feel that way, it's just that the behind the back "me or them" stuff was getting to me.

and by that I mean, on what grounds can you be ignored "in the face"? or is this one of those teenager things where you try to be funny by adding nonsequiturs on the end of every sentence
