The Craft, 1996 film masterpiece, let's talk baout it

I fucking LOVE this movie, it's so delicious. I wasn't rly that aware of goings-on at the time (being 8yo and all) but I feel like this movie was sort of a big deal in giving the pseudo-"weird" Hot Topic set something to jerk off to bcz FINALLY, SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS ME, WE'LL SHOW THEM! etc. Some of the dialogue is so excruciating ("Watch out for the weirdos, girls" / "We ARE the weirdos, mister!!!") that I feel like this had to have been fairly satirical on some level, in which case it just gets 10x better.

Also, Farouza Balk from Teh Craft is total vintage ws material.

But yeah I mean this film basically addressing the whole outcast/"pay attention to me!"/ADD/gonn b goth lunchtable and (making the crucial mistake of) presenting them with some scenario in which they're actually cool/badass

Did this film have any greater impact on pop culture? Like were there any copycat films/TV shows that came out around this time? Is this film the reason "Buffy" and "Charmed" exist?

I've legitimately "nominated" performances in documentaries before, so that wouldn't be new -- Bill Borchardt Sr., Billy Mitchell, that Tarnation kid's mother...

i have 2 say & have probably sd on ilx before but as rad as this movie is its not really a patch on 'the convenant' which is the gay model david decoteau version of the craft
