for a long time I thought 'unregistered' was just a catch-all for a bunch of anonymous posters on subboards, because I only knew him from those posts and I thought you could still post anonymously on those subboards

This poll is exactly the sort of meta that used to infest ILX and caused a lot of problems before it was squashed. The fact that gr8080 is a long-timer and well-liked shouldn't obscure the fact that this is a step in the wrong direction and poor judgement on his part. If a mod doesn't step in to lock, I'll be disappointed.
