Currently playing at a theatre near me. How badly do I want to see it?

The shot answer is dud. I remember watching it during the World Cup of 1990. Luckily it didn't coincide with any of the actual matches.

But it might have been good if it had coincided with the final.

I'd love to see Blue. It's just one of those things I never get around to renting at the video store...

Mary, Sunday, 11 August 2002 19:15 (twenty-two years ago) link

i prefer to watch blue with the sound turned down

"Caravaggio" is one a small handful of films I actually walked out on. I saw it while in my teens, so I don't really remember why I disliked it so, but there you are.

Be sure to get the letterboxed version of Blue, the pan and scan version ruins it.

I like it on my old black & white TV. Less flashy.

what other movies did he do? the only one i know i seen that i know was him was "Jubilee", that belongs in one of those Incredibly Bad (or whatever) film fests.

I'd really like to see more Derek Jarman flicks. (Well, why don't you buy a VCR? No mullah is stopping you.) I liked "Wittgenstein" and I very much like the videos he shot for Psychic TV ("Catalan" and I think "Moon Child").

I guess I could make a joke about screening Blue in black and white, but...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 17 August 2002 23:46 (twenty-two years ago) link

...but martin already made it

mark s (mark s), Saturday, 17 August 2002 23:52 (twenty-two years ago) link

Big Jarman blowout on Criterion Channel rn, this was my first, quite liked it, recommended if you like knife play, bisexuals, grime, oil paintings

My first time watching it, thanks to Criterion.

the little bfi book by bersani and dutoit is also p good

tilda swinton's first film, and (ignoring a minor role in a TV movie) also sean bean's

mark s, Friday, 3 February 2023 16:27 (one year ago) link

And both made up to look interchangeable, which I loved.
