i took a picture of the first piece of hash i ever smoked, posed on a copy of murder dog, with a penny beside it or something. i bought it from some kids that sat in vic park all day. that park, all the people from the offices having lunch around the cenotaph and groups of kids selling weed. it was a dark brown cube, not a lot of junk in it. i took thumbnail slices off it and rolled them into tiny worms between my fingers and they burned to a really pure white ash. the high built slow and then it was just a lead blanket, smothered with pillows and none of the zooming mazey thought processes with weed i'd smoked before. i'd smoke too much and lay in bed and just wither away into unconsciousness. after that, i never found anything the same except kif and hash in central asia. the quality was never as high. always a bit too hard and stemmy. now... out on the west coast, it seems like lanky colorful sativas are dominant. the other day, i was supposed to pick up some afghani hash... but it didn't work out and i picked up some rockstar kush (not in the new school kush family, really, but sensi star and soma rock bud, just pretty hardcore indica genetics): dark dark green, old spice red hairs, no fruity scents, smelled like HASH pure pure hash. love this stuff. paralyzing thoughtful stoned.
