RFI: Clicks - Mech Warrior

The following sentence comes from a computer game called MECH WARRIORS:

"Alpha Lance is two clicks out from Nav Alpha"

Could anyone tell me what "two clicks" refers to? I need to know for a work-related matter, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know what Alpha Lance or Nav Alpha are either, but that doesn't really matter.

Thanks in advance

Isn't it kilometres?

I believe its kilometres too. I have heard it used by both the US Army (strange for them to use metric units) & fellow plane spotters (giving directions: "drive 10 clicks down the whizzway")

Sorted. I owe you both a pint. Thanks very much.
