^ This is where "The Station Agent" was filmed, and just down the street from my childhood home. The area is really special to me.
Please post any beautiful pictures of train tracks (with or without trains), if you also find that sort of thing really captivating, too.

One of my favorite shots I've ever taken, at LA's Union Station:

All aboard?
I'll upload some good ones of my own taking once I get the chance!

That is a very empty station by the way, Ned.

If he has a hammer like that, why bother waiting for the train to do the dirty work?
― Wacky Way Lounge (Evan), Wednesday, 27 April 2011 21:31 (fourteen years ago)
First two are beautiful Pleasant.

Saw an old country record at Good Records in NYC that had a photo of an old train on tracks that went right through a creek and I loved it but I can't find it anywhere on the internet to post...
Love when the railroad has barely cleared a path for itself and just kind of gets lost in its environment.

I realize this doesn't do it for people like sinking/sunken ships for instance, but I love the few that were posted! Especially the one through the woods- so very cool.

It's what's left of a trestle going over a creek - part of what's known as the Beechy Line (in use from 1902 to 1962)

why is that awful song "drops of jupiter" still played all over the place?

i'm usually very tolerant of cheesy pop ephemera but i make an exception in this case. 16 years is enough.
