... is a half-chewed beetroot and a kettle full of gravel

I went wandering through the deserted streets and houses of the once proud city of Lusenet. The names of long-forgotten trolls, ancient panics, fury frozen into crumbling tableaux, now only the wind visits them.

I noticed someone's removed the Add New Board option, unless it's hidden somewhere stupid. I feel so rejected.

I like the new board.

We never caught up.

But we can look ourselves in the mirror and be comforted by the knowledge that we were not suckered by Gary North.

I hope there are tumbleweeds and a snake slithering away to hide somewhere.

the beetroot plants are growing at an amazing rate! Within no time they will have formed their own complex society.

I've just posted 8376 messages to close every ILM thread. ILE is next.

If Phil Greenspun is the Beyonder, and ILXor was / is the Beyonder world, then:

1) Where the hell is the Thing?
2) Who's wearing the stylish black symbiote?
3) What the hell happened to Mike Zeck?
4) Why did Spider-Woman fall into the dastardly clutches of Danny "Fill In" Fingeroth?

Mark S = Galactus! DO YOU SEE!

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 19 August 2002 21:23 (twenty-three years ago)

...and 17,000 we've moved links on every thread (though I'm sure I missed a couple).

Graham (graham), Tuesday, 20 August 2002 20:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Greenspun is down again, but hey, who cares?

fifteen years pass...

One of Greenspun's most famous students is Randal Pinkett, who built an online community for low-income housing residents in Greenspun's 6.171 Software Engineering for Internet Applications course. Pinkett went on to win NBC TV show The Apprentice.

We never caught up.

One of the thrills of Greenspun Ask A Drunk was surpassing the total posts on a series of obscure Greenspun boards, mostly about stuff like pet parrots or anarchism. Each time we'd celebrate like it was 2001. We never caught up to TimeBomb 2000, either.
