the real question should be: t/s the chicken wings that are like drumsticks, or... the other ones

J0rdan S., Thursday, 5 May 2011 03:38 (fourteen years ago)

The advantage of hot wings is you get to eat around the bone like some primal crazoid, in public! See also: oxtail soup.

I like that feeling of "I care more about not wasting food than you" when I compare the state of my bone with others at my table

Some places' "boneless" wings aren't even wings, iirc, they're breast meat.

Also the two-bone wings are better than the drumstick wing bits, just like the vertebra-shaped oxtail cuts are better than the ones with just one stupid wee tiny bone.

boneless is weird

yeah i mean this is my major problem with the boneless wing concept; usually the bone-in wings just taste more real and meaty to me

call all destroyer, Thursday, 5 May 2011 03:41 (fourteen years ago)

i vote for the other ones

Audrey Tuomason (dayo), Thursday, 5 May 2011 03:42 (fourteen years ago)

-( ☃)*( ☃)- (Lamp), Thursday, 5 May 2011 03:44 (fourteen years ago)

i dont think i have either but just the concept sorta grosses me out

cum dude (Princess TamTam), Thursday, 5 May 2011 03:45 (fourteen years ago)

i've had them, they're essentially just big-ass nuggets afaict

call all destroyer, Thursday, 5 May 2011 03:46 (fourteen years ago)

yeah i dont really get the appeal/how they exist - shit is just chunks of meat w/ sauce on em

also abboott otm

-( ☃)*( ☃)- (Lamp), Thursday, 5 May 2011 03:47 (fourteen years ago)

the thought of biting into what you believe to be a wing and your teeth never touching bone - its just so wrong

cum dude (Princess TamTam), Thursday, 5 May 2011 03:48 (fourteen years ago)

slurpin the little bits of meat off (pause), the way meat cooks when it's in a boned state, important factors imo

cum dude (Princess TamTam), Thursday, 5 May 2011 03:49 (fourteen years ago)

If they were called Meganugz of Chikko Tenaers or anything like that I'd be fine, but it is their wing-fronting that bothers me. (Also they are inferior in taste & texture & pleasure of eating.)

yah this is u&k

a lot of places here will just call 'em 'chicken tenders' on the menu rather than front that they are deboned wings. like i said on the other thread, i do eat them at this once place locally where i know the wings are pretty crappy and small. my preference is always for bar wings tho.

my bf is a bartender at a place w/ cheapass wings - theyre not the best by any means but i bigass plate of honey garlic and/or mild when youre drunk is so sweet

-( ☃)*( ☃)- (Lamp), Thursday, 5 May 2011 03:52 (fourteen years ago)

boneless is wrong

all wings are like children to me, i will devour them with equal enthusiasm

I had lunch with my mom last weekend and she orered boneless wings. I started asking her all sorts of wing-realted questions inspired by this thread. She was like, "WHY DO YOU CARE?". It was a valid question.

I find chicken wings kind of gross. There's always some gristly or tendony bits that I'm not sure I'm supposed to eat and really do not enjoy when I try to do so. Still, chicken, and especially deep-fried chicken, are not especially high on my list of things to eat right now so I'll just vote for bone-in.

Sometimes at Thai/Viet places you can get these stuffed chicken wings that have been partially deboned and packed with the ricey-noodley spring roll filling.
