Truth be told, this is for the same restaurant incorporation operating under different names and guises. Not for Kennedy Fried Chicken or the one little dairy bar in Illinois that still calls itself "Burger King".

But, it's been much more fun this way too. So it's all good.

In Australia, they've taken all the Lone Star Steakhouses and turned them into … Outback Jacks.

I'm not even going to get into the American chain of Outback restaurants, but why add the Jack to everything?

pp that blog is great! all those ugly buildings in michigan & ontario made me nostalgic for the midwest. "back in the day soul food" looked coolest.

At one point there was a fierce legal battle between Hungry Jack's (Burger King) and Burger King (not Burger King) which was so convoluted that I don't think anyone followed it xxp

btw I've not seen a single Outback Jack's/Outback Steakhouse in Australia and have just assumed that they're tourist traps for foreigners.

The main artery in my (and andrew m.'s) neighborhood has its fair share of restaurant architecture. The rent-a-center and comic book store used to be a KFC and McDonald's respectively. They even still have the drive-thru windows. (Some sort of cardboard cutout dude mans the comic book store's window.)

There was also a Taco Bill restaurant chain in Australia, crummy Mexican food... though it didnt really resemble Taco Bell all that much, not like Hungry Jacks/Burger King
