being indie as fukk and voting aerodynamics of gender -- i'll never love anything more than the trampoline plot

more fish for kunta (zachlyon), Thursday, 19 May 2011 03:06 (fourteen years ago)

conspiracies, and theories thereof

j., Thursday, 19 May 2011 03:13 (fourteen years ago)

i have faith that ilx will not pick either of the last two.

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Thursday, 19 May 2011 03:18 (fourteen years ago)

damn, i had forgotten how much i enjoyed "accounting for lawyers," with the chloroform, drew carey's creepy hole in the hand, etc.

tribute power point presentation (reddening), Thursday, 19 May 2011 03:37 (fourteen years ago)

Christmas just over AD&D

EveningStar (Sund4r), Thursday, 19 May 2011 03:46 (fourteen years ago)

Conspiracy Theories for sure.

Simon H. Shit (Simon H.), Thursday, 19 May 2011 04:00 (fourteen years ago)

where is the "all of the above" option

da croupier, Thursday, 19 May 2011 04:02 (fourteen years ago)

conspiracies.

WHO THE FUCK READS THE (a hoy hoy), Thursday, 19 May 2011 04:02 (fourteen years ago)

since there isn't a "there was sliced bread and then there was Community Season 2" option, I might vote for "intermediate documentary filmmaking" - Jeff's meltdown really got to me, and Troy's was non-stop lollage

da croupier, Thursday, 19 May 2011 04:04 (fourteen years ago)

celeb pharmacology was funny

I need to rewatch tbh

The Brainwasher, Thursday, 19 May 2011 04:05 (fourteen years ago)

looking over the plot descriptions...I can't believe this all happened in one TV season

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community_%28season_2%29

da croupier, Thursday, 19 May 2011 04:07 (fourteen years ago)

Oh yeah, Conspiracy Theories and Intermediate Documentary were great too. Da croupier OTM.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Thursday, 19 May 2011 04:08 (fourteen years ago)

coop calligraphy for me but there's a ton i could've voted for. would probably agree parks had the more consistent season but community's peaks this season i'd put up against any sitcom ever. community: mantle :: parks : aaron.

balls, Thursday, 19 May 2011 04:26 (fourteen years ago)

maybe i missed some good ones, but chose dungeons and dragons episode. balls otm

marc gasloi (symsymsym), Thursday, 19 May 2011 04:34 (fourteen years ago)

messianic myths and intro to political science the weakest ones for me.

balls, Thursday, 19 May 2011 04:50 (fourteen years ago)

between ad&d and critical film studies (my dinner with abed) for me

Clay, Thursday, 19 May 2011 04:57 (fourteen years ago)

abed in full andre gregory mode is maybe maybe my peak moment. also want to give a shoutout to paradigms of human memory here. and thanks to nbc putting this and parks together at 8 next year, which really will make my tv watching much more efficient that night.

balls, Thursday, 19 May 2011 05:07 (fourteen years ago)

seems unfair to compare community and parks and rec for season long consistency, given parks and rec had a half-length season. i voted for the christmas episode btw.

phantompenguin, Thursday, 19 May 2011 05:28 (fourteen years ago)

counting tomorrow, Parks and Rec had 16 episodes, which is still pretty substantial considering they all contained considerable lols. (Then again I'm one of the few who thinks Community S1 > S2.)

Simon H. Shit (Simon H.), Thursday, 19 May 2011 05:34 (fourteen years ago)

Either AD&D, Critical Film Studies, or the clip show.

Jeff/pierce melt-down was good, too.

Crazed Mister Handy (kingfish), Thursday, 19 May 2011 05:41 (fourteen years ago)

i also fall in the S1 > S2 category. it's cheesy to say, but i didn't like how much they all fought this season. it left less time for just crackin' wise around the study table.

tribute power point presentation (reddening), Thursday, 19 May 2011 05:46 (fourteen years ago)

S2 was largely absurd in all respects, but I don't favor either season over the other.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 19 May 2011 05:47 (fourteen years ago)

my top 10, by the Friends-style titles i refer to them by in my head:

1. The One With The Space Flight Simulator (Basic Rocket Science)
2. The One With The My Dinner With Andre Homage (Critical Film Studies)
3. The One With The Hole In Drew Carey's Hand (Accounting for Lawyers)
4. The One With The Claymation Christmas (Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas)
5. The One With Kevin Corrigan Teaching Night School (Conspiracy Theories and Interior Design)
6. The One WIth Stephen Tobolowsky (Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking)
7. The One With Troy's Birthday At The Bar (Mixology Certification)
8. The one With Pierce Playing Drugs (Celebrity Pharmacology)
9. The One With The Trampoline (Aerodynamics of Gender)
10. The One With Mockumentary-Style Camera Work (Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking)

some dude, Thursday, 19 May 2011 12:32 (fourteen years ago)

i'm sure that order will change once it comes out on DVD and i can watch it all again, though. this might be sacrilege but Basic Rocket Science is the one this season that made me lose my shit on first airing almost as much as the o.g. paintball episode.

some dude, Thursday, 19 May 2011 12:36 (fourteen years ago)

those are 10 fantastic episodes

I HAVE ISSUES (DJP), Thursday, 19 May 2011 13:24 (fourteen years ago)

really the only downpoint I had last week in MN hanging out with jjj and FB was discovering that they didn't "get" Community

I HAVE ISSUES (DJP), Thursday, 19 May 2011 13:26 (fourteen years ago)

i'd go 'my dinner with abed'

think it's a crazy uneven show

BIG CUDDLES aka the steindriver (history mayne), Thursday, 19 May 2011 13:28 (fourteen years ago)

Conspiracy theories, but there's loads vying for second place. I have a soft spot for the one where Jeff and Duncan try and watch the football, but I'm not sure I'd vote for it.

Matt DC, Thursday, 19 May 2011 13:28 (fourteen years ago)

Having never seen My Dinner With Andre probably hampered my enjoyment of that episode a bit. The first couple in the series are probably the worst (although still a fun way to spend 20mins).

Matt DC, Thursday, 19 May 2011 13:30 (fourteen years ago)

I have a soft spot for the one where Jeff and Duncan try and watch the football, but I'm not sure I'd vote for it.

I am tempted to pick that one solely for the introduction of Magnitude.

I HAVE ISSUES (DJP), Thursday, 19 May 2011 13:31 (fourteen years ago)

^^yes! though i could probably go with anyone of these. except the one where pierce was in the hospital, didn't get that one at all.

sonderangerbot, Thursday, 19 May 2011 13:35 (fourteen years ago)

BIG CUDDLES aka the steindriver (history mayne), Thursday, 19 May 2011 13:35 (fourteen years ago)

I don't think any of these quite match the sheer manic ridiculousness of the conspiracy thriller ep though, especially the chase through the blanket fort.

Matt DC, Thursday, 19 May 2011 13:38 (fourteen years ago)

Latvian Independence Day Parade!

Matt DC, Thursday, 19 May 2011 13:39 (fourteen years ago)

I went with Calligraphy, but could easily have gone with about nine others. Something about that episode felt like the show turned another decisive corner.

"Aerodynamics of Gender" was really amazing, in many many ways, and contains my favorite Annie line of the show:

I HAVE ISSUES (DJP), Thursday, 19 May 2011 13:46 (fourteen years ago)

6. The One WIth Stephen Tobolowsky (Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking)

^ i messed this up btw, should be Competitive Wine Tasting

some dude, Thursday, 19 May 2011 13:47 (fourteen years ago)

which one was the fake-clip clip-show ep??? i voted for Dungeons & Dragons, but should have voted for whichever that one was. i have spoiled my ballot :s

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Thursday, 19 May 2011 14:06 (fourteen years ago)

The pile-up of Dean Pelton "hi dere!" moments in that ep is just amazing.

Matt DC, Thursday, 19 May 2011 14:06 (fourteen years ago)

Winger's speech at the end was the high point for me.

got electrolytes (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Thursday, 19 May 2011 14:11 (fourteen years ago)

clip shaux was "Paradigms of Human Memory"

This season can't come out on DVD fast enough

da croupier, Thursday, 19 May 2011 14:14 (fourteen years ago)

^^ Looking forward to the commentaries. The ones on S1 DVD are never less than hilarious and/or fascinating.

shake it, shake it, sugary pee (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Thursday, 19 May 2011 14:27 (fourteen years ago)

It's really hard to pick just one, but I have to go with Critical Film Studies. Danny Pudi is amazing.

Peyton Flanders (Nicole), Thursday, 19 May 2011 14:36 (fourteen years ago)

We’ve known each other for almost two years now. And yeah, in that time I’ve given a lot of speeches. But they all have one thing in common. They’re all different. These drug runners aren’t going to execute Pierce because he’s racist. It’s a locomotive that runs on us. And the only sharks in that water, are the emotional ghosts that I like to call fear, anchovies, fear and the dangers of ingesting mercury. Because the real bugs aren’t the ones in those beds. There’s no such thing as a free Caesar salad, and even if there were, The Cape still might find a second life on cable. And I’ll tell you why (the heart of the water is truth), that water is a lie! Harrison Ford is radiating our testicles with microwave satellite transmission! So maybe we are caught in an endless cycle of screw-ups and feelings, but I choose to believe it’s just the universe’s way of molding us into some kind of super group.

"Made my choice. Immediately regretting it."

yup. what some people call inconsistency, i call a lot of different kinds of great in one show. hard to pick a single episode that exemplifies everything i've enjoyed about the show this season.

phantompenguin, Friday, 20 May 2011 01:28 (fourteen years ago)

Only started watching Community from the beginning a few weeks ago, couldn't get enough and watched about 3 per night til the finale. <3 it so much and yet, can't decide on the best ep. Hole in the hand was maybe the best gag ever, although Pierce shouting "I'm the best!!" in part 1 of the paintball finale had me lolling for ages for some reason.

BTW why did none of you fuckers tell me that Donald Glover was doing a live tour? How will he become my boyfriend if I can't stalk him efficiently?

Not the real Village People, Friday, 20 May 2011 03:27 (fourteen years ago)

Tempted to vote for Intro to Political Science just for Pierce's "psst... Vicki. psst... Look at me. I'm going to crush you." debate speech.

the girl from spirea x (f. hazel), Friday, 20 May 2011 04:12 (fourteen years ago)

Can't possibly decide, too much greatness this season

Nhex, Friday, 20 May 2011 04:19 (fourteen years ago)

my top ten which is lame cuz its like half of them but fuck it:

paradigms of human memory
advanced d&d
basic rocket science
intro to political science
early 21st century romanticism
aerodynamics of gender
critical film studies
accounting for lawyers
fistfull of paintballs
conspiracy theories

balls, Tuesday, 31 May 2011 00:24 (fourteen years ago)

rewatched the paintball eps w/ friends earlier today, they're lotsa fun but simply not remotely in contention for best here

kinda surprised by the winner, should watch the D&D one again because i have barely any memory of it good or bad. really thought Christmas would be the one to beat.

I didn't know shit about D&D (apart from the fact that their are crazy-sided dice), and I loved that episode. And anyway, D&D is just the delivery system.
