Those are good things. My doctor always tells me to cut out the coffee. You'd think I drink gallons of it. Is coffee really that bad for you?

Our brains evolved under quite different circumstances than modern industrial society. Therefore they are often ill-adapted to our present circumstances. Doctors are only trying to mitigate these maladaptions by teaching us better adapted behavior.
Unfortunately, Latham Green is likely to procreate long before the foolish demands of his maladapted brain wreck his bodily health. His comeuppance will arrive when his equally flawed offspring become responsible for his care, as he becomes increasingly physically decrepit.
