Shave your head. If your scalp looks nasty, rock a wig. Or wear Vibrams. That should take the focus off a potentially nasty scalp.

I don't teach in the summer but there's always stuff I have to do

we just went on a european matmos tour, then I ran that conference thang in LA and we played an SF show

now we're home in bmore for 8 days and then we go to Manchester for six weeks (!) to be in a play that's kind of insane and weird

then we are going on our first actual honest-to-god vacation in six years: ten days in the greek islands

that's the summer recipe so far

I will be back in bmore by the 20th of August to get ready for the fall semester

Argh, you were down here and I missed it? (Couldn't make the LA show itself; one of these days I need to finally be at one of these things you and K.R. at UCLA keep putting on. Did I mention he was one of my undergrad professors all those years back? Great guy!)

I didn't know he was one of your profs; yes, Ken is amazing, such a mensch. We had so much fun plotting and planning the conference and, yeah, I'm totally biased since I put it together, but I think it was really expansive / juicy / thorny (obviously mileage may vary). Y'all should have come out. There's some articles and reports on it and such if you look at the LA Times or the Lana Turner blog.

Being carless in OC has its disadvantages! (Also, the combination of end of the academic year/prepping for my forthcoming move at the end of the week = free time? I have heard of this 'free time.') Last caught up with Ken at a show here on campus about a year back, he was there with at least one of his kids.

i went to a spank party last weekend. it was nice, i danced a little and talked a little. i went by myself. spank is a zine. i like to go to their parties by myself bc they are typically loft parties and they usually have roof access. makes it easy to mingle. "need a cigarette?"

roof access at parties is a lovely thing, especially during the summer.

one of my goals for the next two and a half months is to compile a list of awesome terraces in the city.

I finally watched the Trailer for Weekend while I'm in a manic/sentimental/melancholy mood, so when The Antlers started playing I decided it was time for a couple Tylenol PM (sadly that's the best sedatives I've got). As much as the mood, it struck me how the music fit the theme of Hot Stubble.

Dude, "tiny" reminded me: when I was in the art supply store earlier, I saw this a-fucking-dorable wee dude. I'm 5'6" (168 centimeters) and he was no taller than my earlobe and looked like he weighed 105 lbs (I don't know how to convert that to stones). He was shopping for drawing pens, and he was unkempt and scruffy in an uncalculated looking way. I love short guys so much! All men should be 5'4", though then I would never get anything done for all the falling into crushes.

Xps - He isn't that tall. Maybe 5'11" to 6'. A friend and I met him he was totally smashable. As I posted on the Antlers thread, my friend and I peeked in the open stage door before their show in Chicago, and he popped out of a van and claimed to be security. He was nice approachable, though he declined to share the joint behind his ear with us.

Walken has an amazing face. It's got that Mona Lisa slipperiness going on.

There is a guy who rides my bus who looks like Thom Yorke's hot brother. His eyes, brow, and mouth are carbon copies (except no wonky eye) but his nose is a beak and he has beautiful red hair. He dresses business casual, usually blue shirts and khakis. He looks like Thom Yorke in a weak disguise. (That beak nose! So fucking sexy.)
