Apparently Manhunter is being re-made.Now with Edward Norton. I watched it again last night and I say classic. Just like Silence of the Lambs.

Its a very blue film - isn't it. Of course during the nineties it was cool to say that Manhunter was better than SIlence Of The Lambs. Now its cool to say Silence Of The Lambs is better than Hannibal. It is also correct.

I don't know, Manhunter is one of those slippery films which I admire but doesn't quite do it for me. And is it me or does Ed Norton look like the nbloke who played Cameron in Ferris Beullers Day Off.

You know, _Manhunter_ (directed by Michael Mann, Miami Vice stylee!) didn't impress me one damn bit. I think a lot of it had to do with the relative restraint exercised by the actor playing Lechter (as opposed to Anthony Hopkins' vicious over-the-top erudition, which is good in small bits - I wish they knew that when making _Hannibal_). Who the hell is the director of this "new" version?

Hannibal was GRATE because Hopkins spent the entire film obviously pretending to be the divine LC's dad. Right down to "okey-dokey".

Manhunter's a great film and it looks beautiful, especially the scene in the prison, which was actually filmed in a modern art gallery (Atlanta?)

But it's such a shame the fishing rod scene doesn't get lifted from the book, that would have put the top hat on it.

Yes, indeed. You can also find some artwork by that chap who did one of the Talking Heads covers.
