jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 23 August 2002 14:53 (twenty-three years ago)

is this even possible?! (i mean, obviously it is, but i feel like a medical oddity!)

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 23 August 2002 14:53 (twenty-three years ago)

there's an odd yellow mucous oozing.

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 23 August 2002 14:56 (twenty-three years ago)

mmmm yellow mucous

RickyT (RickyT), Friday, 23 August 2002 14:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Don't you mean a blistxx0r?

Sarah (starry), Friday, 23 August 2002 14:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Urgh urgh urgh NASTY. I am reminded of TMI from Amaya during RW Hawaii and urgh urgh.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 23 August 2002 14:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Jess = ICKY. Sounds almost more like an ingrown toenail.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 23 August 2002 15:06 (twenty-three years ago)

it's not an ingrown toenail though! the nail is fine. but underneath the nail...urgh.

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 23 August 2002 15:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Might be a wart. They're removable through cryogenic treatment, which starts out painlessly and then the thawing starts OHMYGODMYTOEISTHROBBINGOHYOUBASTARDOFAPODIATRIST!!

But then it's gone.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Friday, 23 August 2002 15:07 (twenty-three years ago)

The wart, that is, not the toe or the bastard of a podiatrist.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Friday, 23 August 2002 15:08 (twenty-three years ago)

For you, maybe -- I had a bad case of planar warts on my feet for FOUR YEARS. Freezing treatments never worked -- oddly enough, it all came down to some new socks that did the trick (even weirder since I had had plenty of new socks in the interim...).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 23 August 2002 15:09 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm really regretting this thread.

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 23 August 2002 15:10 (twenty-three years ago)

my contribution to this chamber of oozing revulsion is about to be a deskful of vomit

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 23 August 2002 16:11 (twenty-three years ago)

my friend had something like this, his toenail dropped off and then it grew back. "Hey do you want to see my half grown back toenail?" "no", but you always know you have no choice in the matter. Er, sorry Jess.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 23 August 2002 16:16 (twenty-three years ago)

my contribution to this chamber of oozing revulsion is about to be a deskful of vomit

You keep vomit in your desk?????

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 23 August 2002 16:27 (twenty-three years ago)

call a toe truck!

lawrence kansas, Friday, 23 August 2002 16:56 (twenty-three years ago)

i smashed my big toe playing football and the nail went all black and dead - but nothing has grown in its stead! it does not even seem loose. if anything it has gone more gunmetal in colour

it has been like this for weeks now. i think this is how it will remain.

bob zemko, Friday, 23 August 2002 17:10 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah what IS it with people who have nasty foot injuries but seem intent on sharing them with the rest of the world anyway? i know too many of those

i fear be-sandled feet in the summertime for christs sake, why would i want to SEE YOUR INGROWN TOENAIL?

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 23 August 2002 17:14 (twenty-three years ago)

clearly mark p has never himself suffered a KOOL foot injury

bob zemko, Friday, 23 August 2002 17:46 (twenty-three years ago)

(and anyway, sox + sandals is the way to go this summer)

(in england)

bob zemko, Friday, 23 August 2002 17:47 (twenty-three years ago)

WHAT!

socks + sandals = the devils work!

not only does it defeat the admittedly utilitarian purpose of wearing godforsaken sandals in the first place but it also makes you look like yr in constant need of a MAP or a GIFT SHOP or a CURRENCY CONVERSION VESTIBULE

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 23 August 2002 17:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Now that I know of Ned's warts I shall NEVER SLEEP AGAIN!

Dan I., Friday, 23 August 2002 19:19 (twenty-three years ago)

I am not responsible for your insomnia.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 23 August 2002 19:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Blame Faithless.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 23 August 2002 19:31 (twenty-three years ago)

one year passes...
My workmate has just told me about one of her students who phoned in a couple of weeks ago, sobbing down the line, because her other half was in hospital with life-threatening blood poisoning. His leg is all gangrenous and he nearly lost it and, although he is now on the mend, he is still in hospital and will definitely need skin grafts. How did it all begin? ATHLETE'S FOOT. I mean, good lord, have people not heard of Mycil?
