2 is the superior film here no doubt, it's got a train, a barely legal heigl and a bellhop

sonderangerbot, Monday, 11 July 2011 12:01 (thirteen years ago)

which is the one with the naked girl in the cake

dayo, Monday, 11 July 2011 12:02 (thirteen years ago)

Ste, Monday, 11 July 2011 13:12 (thirteen years ago)

Apparently a not quite legal Heigl, she was 17 when this came out.

under siege 2 is, as far as i know, the only action movie where eric bogosian plays the main villain

under siege gets my vote though, it's just a tight piece of work

Ayatollah Colm Meaney (Princess TamTam), Monday, 11 July 2011 14:04 (thirteen years ago)

#1 is just better. Sorry. Has real deaths, real suffering, and Segal speaks in a normal tone of voice at least half a dozen times. #2 has joke villains, joke violence, and SS never gets above a creepily harsh whisper iirc.

both so great, first one is tighter but y'know Bogosian, train, super space laser destructo-ray, i am torn

I own both on DVD and re-watched Flakes on a Train somewhat recently, so I'm not coming out as DISLIKING either. I just prefer the orig.

which one has the hilarious dance-off scene with a guy called "cue-ball" prancing around in a v unusual manner while segal sort of nods along racistly.

LocalGarda, Monday, 11 July 2011 16:36 (thirteen years ago)

in every Steven Seagal movie ever

Thread title brings back happy memories of "NewsRadio"

Jimmy James: Oh yeah, you're completely under siege! Just like that guy in that movie...What's it called?
Dave: "Under Siege?"
Jimmy: No...
Dave: "Under Siege 2"?
Jimmy: No...
Dave: "Under Siege Thr..."
Jimmy: 'at's the one!
Lisa: I don't think they made Under Siege 3.
Jimmy: I can dream, can't I?

1, mostly for the gratuitously huge topless cake dancer

Telephoneface (Adam Bruneau), Monday, 11 July 2011 21:18 (thirteen years ago)

It has to be one, because without one there would be no two.

resonate with awesomeness (jel --), Monday, 11 July 2011 21:19 (thirteen years ago)

Dark Territory has a keyhole satellite spying on a topless woman at a beach, and Bogosian saying, "assumption is the mother of all fuck-ups". And yes, Heigl followed up her success in My Father The Hero with this stunner.

It also highlights the crucial issue of high speed rail. Segal can casually stroll across the top of the moving train here, while Cruise was clinging on for dear life on the TGV in Mission: Impossible, which came out a year later.

Gukbe, Monday, 11 July 2011 21:23 (thirteen years ago)

But 1 features an old co-worker of mine in the first scene, and was shot on the USS Alabama, which I made annual trips to with school, church, and visiting relatives.

Gukbe, Monday, 11 July 2011 21:24 (thirteen years ago)

cross-dressing lunatic busey trumps all

steady yachting (Pillbox), Monday, 11 July 2011 21:39 (thirteen years ago)

plus, the first one also has Tuco from Breaking Bad as an affable chef!

steady yachting (Pillbox), Monday, 11 July 2011 21:40 (thirteen years ago)

assumption is the mother of all fuck ups
that's why they call it space
baggage checked
mostly from you, but that's what I hear

eric bogosian
that lady from American Gothic
a dude from Twin Peaks, I think?

part ii means a lot to me

Under Siege 2 is on a TRAIN.

How many action films have been on a TRAIN? Or how many action films have Steven Seagal riding a motorbike onto a TRAIN?

Modernist Pentathlon (King Boy Pato), Tuesday, 12 July 2011 12:28 (thirteen years ago)

Was unaware of the existence of Under Siege 2.
Or i just blocked it completely. I think I will have to watch it.

Trip Maker, Tuesday, 12 July 2011 13:54 (thirteen years ago)

I want to post cake pic but NSFW and boobs so big they would crash ILX.
