Quite possibly the worst production company running? Let's vote for the shiniest pile of shit in this mess (i.e. the best of a sorry bunch). Yes, this was inspired by seeing the awful Jack & Jill trailer. Also including the awful upcoming Nick Swardson flick.

Personally, torn between House Bunny and Funny People.

voted house bunny, totally not a best-of-the-worst vote, either.

Jack & Jill does look dire, but I get a lot of joy out of selected Adam Sandler films.

As for the others, House Bunny is probably the best. Grandma's Boy is pretty funny too.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 12 July 2011 23:00 (fourteen years ago)

House Bunny v Funny People.

Gukbe, Tuesday, 12 July 2011 23:01 (fourteen years ago)

Funny People is my favorite but not really in the spirit of this thread, so House Bunny.

Little Nicky is kinda fun.

polyphonic, Tuesday, 12 July 2011 23:04 (fourteen years ago)

is adam sandler just bulletproof at the box office? or is he so rich that he keeps getting to make shit no matter what? (i don't really feel like googling the profits from his last few endeavors.)

its actually been the opposite for most of his career - he's an american star, not an international one. in recent years that's less the case, probably because hes doing more high concept stuff

"more high concept stuff"

J0rdan S., Sunday, 31 July 2011 06:44 (fourteen years ago)

i haven't seen 'house bunny' but this is easily '50 first dates' for me

J0rdan S., Sunday, 31 July 2011 06:45 (fourteen years ago)

would be 'big daddy' by a thousand miles if it was on this list tho

J0rdan S., Sunday, 31 July 2011 06:45 (fourteen years ago)

why is katie holmes in 'jack and jill'

J0rdan S., Sunday, 31 July 2011 06:48 (fourteen years ago)

also why does he have an indian son

J0rdan S., Sunday, 31 July 2011 06:48 (fourteen years ago)

i would ask why al pacino was in this but i understand that he needs to up his average rotten tomatoes score for his 21st century filmography

J0rdan S., Sunday, 31 July 2011 06:49 (fourteen years ago)

would be 'big daddy' happy gilmore by a thousand miles if it was on this list tho

the only sandler i could ever get w tbh, tho I did like Funny People more than most (not really his thing, tho)

also: scenes from Billy Madison w/ penguin, Bradley Whitford, Norm Macdonald and/or Chris Farley

Punch Drunk Love has not aged well.

notes on camping (Pillbox), Sunday, 31 July 2011 07:00 (fourteen years ago)

well, 'big daddy' isn't my favorite sandler movie, but it seems much more a part of this list of films than the stuff he did before 'big daddy'

J0rdan S., Sunday, 31 July 2011 07:01 (fourteen years ago)

yeah, def right about that. Waterboy too, maybe.

shastakrautpasta (Drugs A. Money), Sunday, 31 July 2011 13:53 (fourteen years ago)

I saw Billy Madison in the theater (age 15) and forever became cult classic material for me. Memorized lines, rewatched on VHS constantly, etc. Happy Gilmore (age 16) had the same effect, but to a lesser extent.

Waterboy came out my first semester of college. I just sat at the screen stone-faced while a bunch of fratboys guffawed around me. Watching that shitty movie literally felt like, "Here is where I get off."

ennui morricone (Whiney G. Weingarten), Sunday, 31 July 2011 14:02 (fourteen years ago)

re Blart - I hate K James' face to an irrational degree and for no good reason but he bugs the shit out of me. He was filming in my neighborhood recently and I'm pretty sure I saw his stand-in and i was disgusted for the rest of the day.
