One of the better of the recent MST3Ks, I think. "I want my pretty mind back!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Way classic. The sketch segments were bizarre genius (especially the "we'll disrespect you by pouring beer on your most beloved possession"/"well that would be my antique beer stein" bit) and Mike's "sexy wallpaper" remark after the 15th or so dance segment ranks as one of my favorites ever.

Crow dancing in those big gold boots while Tom perved at him was pretty hilarious, too. I wish I'd taped it when it was on this weekend.

Absolutely great -- Ted Mikels trying to make a straight film without ground-up corpses meets late sixties LA sleaze = bad movie genius, and Mike and bots took it for all it was worth. There's too many great bits to quote, I think, but fave sequence: Critter in the rain playing guitar (and then of course Mike singing that ridiculous song..."Raindrops and roses and pu-uuuu-PIES!")

The glorious hardworkers at Jabootu did a number on this a while back, apparently before the MST3K version came up. It does talk about some scenes cut from the Mistied take, including...well, the photo says it all:

Fave quote: "Excuse me, but did anyone notice that I just teleported in?"

The dancing itself is my favorite part though. And the fact that someone would voluntarily call himself Critter.

The teeth-gnashing over being a future draft-dodger was pretty hilarious, too. Dude, if it's killing you that much, GO SIGN UP FOR THE DRAFT.

But remember, he was part of the PEACE Corps and now he must go be a soldier to fight WAR. PEACE -- WAR. The trauma!

There was another comment along the lives of, "She makes Elaine Benes look like she has rhythm," which almost had me crying. That Jabootu summary had me in tears, too.

Jabootu is a gloriously entertaining site. Ken, chief crab there, is a political conservative and proud of it, but wisely his asides never override the sheer joy of the pieces (and often they serve as a good bullshit/plot cliche detector).

It's just a great episode, is what it is! "They forgot the ME!"

I actually haven't seen this one yet.

Michael Daddino, Monday, 26 August 2002 22:52 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought you had probably seen everything. Now let's talk about Space Mutiny...

Slab Drywall!

"I think it's nice of you to give that dead woman another chance..."
