anthony easton (anthony), Monday, 26 August 2002 17:24 (twenty-three years ago)

get a shave/trim as well.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Monday, 26 August 2002 17:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Wash your hair before you go, and they can't charge you extra for washing your hair.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 26 August 2002 19:39 (twenty-three years ago)

What's the point of having your hair cut if they don't wash your hair for you? (NB I may just be saying this because I haven't had my hair professionally cut since I was about 12, an age at which having a barber-girl rub your head is a lot more thrilling of an experience.)

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 26 August 2002 19:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I haven't paid for a haircut in about twenty years. Sadly, it probably shows.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 26 August 2002 19:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Shave it all off. Bald Pink Moose! Do it!

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 26 August 2002 20:48 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm having mine cut tomorrow as well!!
And it's free...

Get youself a cute little hairdresser friend, that's my suggestion.

DrixXx, Monday, 26 August 2002 20:57 (twenty-three years ago)

i am recovering from a sleek shaved head (not bald obv) and letting it grow out now

its currently too long to be short but too short to be long and i'm eyeing the clippers with malice and intent

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 26 August 2002 22:04 (twenty-three years ago)

i think anthony should go for a beckham cut myself, i think that would work quite well

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 06:33 (twenty-three years ago)

CRIKEY gareth, beckham haircut for anthony = urgent and key!

katie (katie), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 07:24 (twenty-three years ago)

i got a paris island cut. i look butch and hot.

anthony, Tuesday, 27 August 2002 18:15 (twenty-three years ago)

What is a paris island cut? Does it look like Notre Dame, which is the thing I think of on a Paris island?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 18:27 (twenty-three years ago)

two months pass...
i still think anthony should have got the beckham cut

gareth (gareth), Friday, 8 November 2002 17:07 (twenty-three years ago)

bob zemko (bob), Friday, 8 November 2002 18:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Maria (Maria), Friday, 8 November 2002 20:52 (twenty-three years ago)

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 12 December 2005 10:16 (twenty years ago)

tis the season

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Monday, 12 December 2005 14:52 (twenty years ago)

I got bangs, b/c they came up in conversation, at a dinner party on Friday. They are cute and may have possibly changed my life.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Monday, 12 December 2005 14:53 (twenty years ago)

pics plz.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Monday, 12 December 2005 15:08 (twenty years ago)

I had mine cut yesterday. 20 minutes of snipping away and it looks.......exactly the same. Not what I was going for.

Jaq (Jaq), Monday, 12 December 2005 15:29 (twenty years ago)

I got bangs too! Kind of flicky-off to one side.

Mädchen (Madchen), Monday, 12 December 2005 15:33 (twenty years ago)

I am overdue

RJG (RJG), Monday, 12 December 2005 15:34 (twenty years ago)

No, you're not.

Kate Classic (kate), Monday, 12 December 2005 15:35 (twenty years ago)

i'm overdue as well. i can't let my hair dry naturally anymore - i've got to go at it with the dryer and irons for it to look normal, which is a pain (and damaging) to do every day.

lauren (laurenp), Monday, 12 December 2005 15:51 (twenty years ago)

i got bollocked on saturday by my jovial 21-year-old hairdresser (male, fat, topp) for leaving it too long between haircuts. i felt so guilty i gave him a tip. this is in a backstreet glasgow barber's. jesus.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Monday, 12 December 2005 15:53 (twenty years ago)

this is in a backstreet glasgow barber's.

That sounds dirty.

Kate Classic (kate), Monday, 12 December 2005 15:56 (twenty years ago)

my hair takes some drying

RJG (RJG), Monday, 12 December 2005 16:04 (twenty years ago)

I have my eye on a haircut!

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 12 December 2005 20:40 (twenty years ago)

Drying? A nonsense! We'll be the judges of whether you need a haircut or not. Provide pictorial evidence, please!

Kate Classic (kate), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 10:45 (twenty years ago)

I have no hair and my punk workmate told me I resembled one of Fiddy's old mugshots.

BARMS, Tuesday, 13 December 2005 11:07 (twenty years ago)

no

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 11:58 (twenty years ago)

Please?

Kate Classic (kate), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 11:58 (twenty years ago)

topp?

Onimo (GerryNemo), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 12:02 (twenty years ago)

Come on, I'm not half as obvious as the Usual Suspects begging for more photos of Ally or Luna on the WDYLL thread! :-)

wait... D'oh!

Kate Classic (kate), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 12:04 (twenty years ago)

I want a perm so badly but alas pregnancy and chemicals don't mix well. :-(

Wash your hair before you go, and they can't charge you extra for washing your hair.

Here they still charge you.

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 12:15 (twenty years ago)

no

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 13:20 (twenty years ago)

Humph. Well, I'm happy because I just BOUGHT A HOUSE. I don't need Scots Hair pr0n on the interweb to make me happy today.

Kate Classic (kate), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 13:30 (twenty years ago)

Scottish hair, yesterday. Apparently.

Kate Classic (kate), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 13:36 (twenty years ago)

Do hairdressers all over the world not listen to their clients? Whenever I ask for something, they seem to have their ears clogged and do whatever they like. Sometimes they flatout refuse to give you what you want: I have been BEGGING for years to have bangs but THEY NEVER EVER LISTEN. A.R.G.H.

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 13:40 (twenty years ago)

I have problems trying to get hairdressers to NOT cut my bangs. Sigh.

Kate Classic (kate), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 13:42 (twenty years ago)

Maybe we should swap. (I'm more than willing after having seen your new place!) I really hate it. Maybe they know I'm lazy and only go to the hairdresser like every century?

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 13:44 (twenty years ago)

Swap? Then I get a BABY!!! Hurrah!

I go to the hairdresser about once a year, to get pruned. I often never go to the same one twice, as well. I think they only really start to listen to you if you go to them regularly.

Kate Classic (kate), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 13:45 (twenty years ago)

Well, you'll have to push the baby out first. ;-) You're probably right in re to regular visits. Maybe I should go more often. I'm really tempted to go every two weeks (for a *fluff-up*), but then I realize if I don't even manage to go every year... How in the world would I manage to go every other week? Another thing on my 2006 list I'll never get around to doing...

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 13:49 (twenty years ago)

topp?

and grate.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 13:51 (twenty years ago)

If you have long hair like a GURL you're supposed to get it trimmed every 3 months or something. I cannot be bothered. Especially when places try to charge you £30 for a trim!

Hence why I am fascinated by the idea of people with regular haircuts, and the idea of being "overdue" for a haircut.

I mean, even for boys. My dad was dragged to the hairdresser about once a year, usually kicking and screaming and having to be told "look, Keith Richards has had a haircut, it won't kill you!"

Kate Classic (kate), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 13:53 (twenty years ago)

I know! My mum used to go EVERY BLOODY WEEK! Of course her hair was ruined after a couple of years. But god did it look PURRRRFEKT. I'm too lazy to go every three months. Must change that bad habit. :-(

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 13:54 (twenty years ago)

I mean, apart from the obvious perving admirational purposes, I want to see what people consider to be "overdue" for a haircut. I used to have a male friend who got his hair cut so frequently (I'm talking once month or more!) that his "overdue" was indistinguishable from his "freshly cut".

Kate Classic (kate), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 13:57 (twenty years ago)

Three months? I have to go every six to eight weeks. It's too short to leave it any longer.

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 14:17 (twenty years ago)

Well, my hair does grow really slowly.

Kate Classic (kate), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 14:18 (twenty years ago)

My hair has grown like MADD which seems to be due to my pregnancy/vitamin pills. Apparently it'll fall out - not all of course - after the delivery. Bummah.

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 14:24 (twenty years ago)

I can't STAND getting my hair cut. But had to bite the bullet last week and long straggly mess is now... shorter straggly mess:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v208/slightlyfoxed/december05.jpg
At least the hairdresser didn't talk to me, and she was pleasingly swift and assertive.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 14:42 (twenty years ago)

It looks nice, Archel! Very tidy, a good length.

Sigh. I just have to accept that my hair is a Pre-Raphaelite birdsnest no matter what I do to it, and there is no hairdresser on earth that is going to turn it into anything else except a Pre-Raphaelite birdsnest. :-(

Kate Classic (kate), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 14:45 (twenty years ago)

I am in major need of my semi-annual haircut, but I think I'm going to wait until I'm down in NYC for the New Year and drop some major coin on a high-end pro haircut.

I've always considered a good haircut a good investment, but the last time I went to a posh salon I was made to wear a one-size-fits-most-women dressing gown. Being a big dude (over 6 feet and 200 lbs), it looked like a trashy lingerie kimono on me. Then I had to wait around for a half-hour to wait for my stylist to see me. It was humiliating & traumatic, but ultimately worth it for one of the best haircuts of my life thus far.

elmo (allocryptic), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 15:54 (twenty years ago)

Andrew, you should get Japanese hair relaxing.

GET EQUIPPED WITH BUBBLE LEAD (ex machina), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 15:57 (twenty years ago)

i'm considering a mullet right now. not too pronounced, but just short and spikish at the front and left to grow a bit at back adn sides. is that so wrong?

barbarian cities (jaybob3005), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:01 (twenty years ago)

it is kind of wrong.
less wrong if you will be playing hockey or at least being a crazed fan.
or maybe more wrong. i don't know. "spikish" is a word that worries me.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:05 (twenty years ago)

spikey-ish mebbe.

i think crazed american sports fan is probably a look i wouldn't mind.

barbarian cities (jaybob3005), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:07 (twenty years ago)

I am extremely disappointed by the profound lack of photos of cute boys who "need haircuts" on this thread. :-(

Kate Classic (kate), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:08 (twenty years ago)

but jon, i don't have unruly curls! i have luscious wavy hair!

elmo (allocryptic), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:10 (twenty years ago)

don't want to be bald

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:31 (twenty years ago)

archel your hair has lovely waves. Mine neither waves nor straightens somehow, yet retains the annoying characteristics of both, and if I have bangs (especially in the UK climate) they NEVER lie right. I was so overdue for my last haircut, like by a year+, but I probably got the best (or best value-for-money at least) haircut I've ever gotten. And my stylist didn't speak much english.

sgs (sgs), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:37 (twenty years ago)

zing :(

GET EQUIPPED WITH BUBBLE LEAD (ex machina), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 18:52 (twenty years ago)

getting pretty long & unkempt at the back & sides

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 13:49 (twenty years ago)

your hair is short

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 13:52 (twenty years ago)

yeah, I realise this but it's unkempt and long at the back; I only really noticed because I'm wearing a high collared shirt today

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 13:59 (twenty years ago)

six years pass...

i'm getting a haircut tomorrow! my god, it's gotten so long.

i'm going for the one i got a couple years ago -- scarjo's oscars cut, but mixed with a vidal sassoon-style angled longer-in-the-front thing.
