Kiarostami bag (milo z), Tuesday, 2 August 2011 19:43 (fourteen years ago)

"God Shammgod" is pretty much the best name ever, regardless of context

Razor Shines and Quentin Jammer are the two frontrunners in "things I wish I could name my kid"

frogbs, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 19:45 (fourteen years ago)

Scott Verplank, because it sounds great in a Jerry Lewis nutty-professor voice.

clemenza, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 19:47 (fourteen years ago)

In the fortunate category Wolfgang Wolf former coach of German FC Wolfsburg.

ladies love draculas like children love stray dogs (ENBB), Tuesday, 2 August 2011 19:47 (fourteen years ago)

D'Brickashaw Montgomery Ferguson for being an all around fucking amazing name.

ladies love draculas like children love stray dogs (ENBB), Tuesday, 2 August 2011 19:48 (fourteen years ago)

Stubby Clapp, Canadian national baseball team
Bum Ho Lee, Korean national baseball team

polyphonic, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 19:48 (fourteen years ago)

Wolfgang Wolf sounds like a cartoon character name, but then again I suppose all these do

frogbs, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 19:48 (fourteen years ago)

It does but the fact that he coached Wolfsburg just takes it to that next level. Feel like his name may have helped during the hiring process tbh.

there was a Rugby player named Threaton Polmalu, both the biggest and fastest player on the field

Dick Trickle in the last category

Well, his name is Richard Trickle and he chose to call himself Dick, so I don't know if "unfortunate" is the right word for it.

polyphonic, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 19:50 (fourteen years ago)

xxp yeah at that point it starts sounding like a really uncreative cartoon

frogbs, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 19:50 (fourteen years ago)

Fred: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/player/_/id/98116/fred?cc=5901

Yup.

polyphonic, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 19:54 (fourteen years ago)

Ichiro!

frogbs, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 19:55 (fourteen years ago)

I like just Fred because somehow the one name being "Fred" just makes it.

ladies love draculas like children love stray dogs (ENBB), Tuesday, 2 August 2011 19:56 (fourteen years ago)

there is more than one Fred iirc

Big fan of Ndamukong Suh, especially since Ndamukong means "House of Spears"

I always put Coco Crisp in the same category as Milton Bradley.

There are a ton of NOTY candidates/winners in college football, notably LSU's Barkevious Mingo (whose LSU bio notes brothers named Hugh Mingo III and Hughtavious Mingo!!!), but also Wake Forest freshman Gods-Power Offor, Florida Atlantic's Yourhighness Morgan, etc.

C-L, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 20:41 (fourteen years ago)

there was a baseball player named Pussy Tebeau who, as my SI calendar pointed out, was "the worst of the Tebeau brothers"

I always put Coco Crisp in the same category as Milton Bradley.

These guys once comprised 2/3 of the Cleveland Indians outfield. It was spectacular.
