Kicks off Saturday 20th August. No Simon. No Cheryl. No Dannii. Instead it's Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos (Dappy from N-Dubz' cousin ffs), and Kelly Rowland. Rihanna on board for bootcamp. Robbie and Beyonce to help out their respective mates at the judges' houses.

two weeks pass...

Starts tonight, 8PM on ITV1. Embrace the madness sadness.

Hysterically Hardcore (snoball), Saturday, 20 August 2011 15:47 (thirteen years ago)

tulisa will be the break-out star of this. am imagining she'll change a lot of people's minds.

lex pretend, Saturday, 20 August 2011 16:14 (thirteen years ago)

I think I've got jump cut/zoom in/speed up/slomo fatigue already.

Hysterically Hardcore (snoball), Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:10 (thirteen years ago)

this could be a really good programme, you know, if it weren't for the 9394829283 fucking annoying things about it

lex pretend, Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:14 (thirteen years ago)

i don't understand why they like this loser

lex pretend, Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:15 (thirteen years ago)

Most annoying thing of all: 15 minutes in, first commercial break, and all they've really done is say "ay, these are yer four judges" and "hey look at this toolbox from Brighton".

Hysterically Hardcore (snoball), Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:18 (thirteen years ago)

This singer (Kitty?) is heading for such a fall.

Hysterically Hardcore (snoball), Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:23 (thirteen years ago)

barlow's inherited the cowell money-in-my-eyes stare, i see

lex pretend, Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:25 (thirteen years ago)

why did they open the show with some ~cheeky~ indie wanker? way to make millions turn off. he's going to be there in the top 12 though isn't her. :/

prolego, Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:26 (thirteen years ago)

prolego, Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:26 (thirteen years ago)

jed_, Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:28 (thirteen years ago)

Kitty - no no no, this is not going to work out. Crazzzzzzy alert.

Hysterically Hardcore (snoball), Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:29 (thirteen years ago)

the only thing i'm excited for this season is beyoncé at judges houses. hopefully her schedule doesn't end up full so has to bring in michelle instead

prolego, Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:30 (thirteen years ago)

xxxxp: He's inherited his entire persona, it seems.

abcfsk, Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:31 (thirteen years ago)

and it seems so overly deliberate and heavy-handed. really hatin barlow already. i guess there's no real "boss" though? that could be good, in past series you knew that regardless of the pantomime arguing they'd have to defer to cowell at some point.

i'm watching for tulisa!!

lex pretend, Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:33 (thirteen years ago)

Background music in XF and used in a commercial? Fuck, Supergrass must be coining it in.

Hysterically Hardcore (snoball), Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:34 (thirteen years ago)

Background music in XF and used in a commercial?

hope everyone noticed the wand erection song being used as background music before it's properly out #subliminal

lex pretend, Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:35 (thirteen years ago)

gary has one of the most irritating voices ever

prolego, Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:35 (thirteen years ago)

lex pretend, Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:45 (thirteen years ago)

lex pretend, Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:55 (thirteen years ago)

Hysterically Hardcore (snoball), Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:57 (thirteen years ago)

DISTINCTIVE? IT WAS LIKE ELLIE GOULDING/DIANA VICKERS/NNNGHHH

lex pretend, Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:58 (thirteen years ago)

To be fair, she wasn't as bad as Diana Vickers.

Hysterically Hardcore (snoball), Saturday, 20 August 2011 19:59 (thirteen years ago)

She was Bono. She was not Larry.

lex pretend, Saturday, 20 August 2011 20:14 (thirteen years ago)

About as convincing as Danny Dyer. I have suspicions that random tattoo Gorg was paid to go on and do his thicko act. No-one's that stupid.

Hysterically Hardcore (snoball), Saturday, 27 August 2011 19:53 (thirteen years ago)

MJ impersonator from last year was back on last night, as himself. Which somehow was worse.

three word displayname (snoball), Sunday, 4 September 2011 10:42 (thirteen years ago)

I quite liked the cheeky 16 year old lad who fancied Tulisa - sadly completely overshadowed by Not Michael Jackson strop then weird crying fest at the end with the Scottish girl who did a quite good but not perfect Adele impersonation.

Frimpong iddle I po (onimo), Sunday, 4 September 2011 10:50 (thirteen years ago)

yes the over crying fest was so weird i thought it must have been pre-arranged? i think i'd look up from my pint if she was on at the karaoke but not much more.

jed_, Sunday, 4 September 2011 11:00 (thirteen years ago)

It did seem a little pre-arranged. Or maybe just over-edited. Her audition took over ten minutes.

three word displayname (snoball), Sunday, 4 September 2011 11:54 (thirteen years ago)

This thing of showing people leaving their homes before auditions is a bit wtf - like aren't they supposed to turn up and queue to register and stuff? Why would they put a film crew out to record some no-mark no-one's heard of unless it was already decided they were going to get through (like the Norn Irish girl the other week - full at home profile then surprise surprise four big one thousand percent yeses)?

Frimpong iddle I po (onimo), Sunday, 4 September 2011 12:00 (thirteen years ago)

The whole journey pish they set up for fake Adele was ridiculous. Fuckloads of people have a single parent who had to work, they must be really struggling for actual sob stories. Also, she went way off tune at one point, presumably so up to their ears in their own bullshit that their hearing became impaired. Decision already made before she opened her mouth at that stage, obv.

ailsa, Sunday, 4 September 2011 12:13 (thirteen years ago)

That was pretty much the same z-fest Janet brings every week, yet the judges are lapping it up, why?

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (snoball), Saturday, 19 November 2011 20:37 (thirteen years ago)

i actually don't dislike the original of that. she did it kind of heavy-handedly though. i don;t think she even does twee that well

"Here's Little Mix with a song from The Human Centipede..."

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (snoball), Saturday, 19 November 2011 20:46 (thirteen years ago)

In some ways Amelia is the opposite of Kitty - anonymous when belting it, probably a bit more individual when singing quieter.

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (snoball), Saturday, 19 November 2011 20:47 (thirteen years ago)

tulisa didn't know that song?

um.

all i see is angels in my eyes (lex pretend), Saturday, 19 November 2011 20:48 (thirteen years ago)

Louis is all :-( because Tulisa has stolen his "that's not a song from a movie!" routine wholesale.

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (snoball), Saturday, 19 November 2011 20:48 (thirteen years ago)

"The whole track was a semi-tone too high for you" <-- bullshitting

mark s, Saturday, 19 November 2011 20:49 (thirteen years ago)

all i see is angels in my eyes (lex pretend), Saturday, 19 November 2011 21:20 (thirteen years ago)

Number None, Saturday, 19 November 2011 21:20 (thirteen years ago)

"That is what movie week is about" ffs has Tulisa read the whole 'How To Comment Like Louis Walsh' manual?

I certainly wouldn't have, but hey. (snoball), Saturday, 19 November 2011 21:20 (thirteen years ago)

craig has a free granny's pass for the next two weeks at least

mark s, Saturday, 19 November 2011 21:27 (thirteen years ago)

to my gen shock i reckon Little Mix were the best thing tonight. still think they should have called themselves Rythminx tho.

jed_, Saturday, 19 November 2011 21:29 (thirteen years ago)

amelia and craig were rank

jed_, Saturday, 19 November 2011 21:33 (thirteen years ago)

one year passes...

Does anyone else agree with me that Little Mix's Wings is an absolutely massive tune? Don't pay much attention to the charts these days, and didn't watch any of last year's X-Factor, so only just caught on to it. It's so ridiculously hooky!

I wish to incorporate disco into my small business (chap), Tuesday, 18 December 2012 01:37 (twelve years ago)

DNA is also really good, and the fact there's something really likeable about Little Mix makes me think they'll have a surprising level of longevity.
