I think they're too small to eat? The crayfish in the other hand are quite good eaters.

Often it only kills prey but does not eat it. It kills its prey by biting it with its large mandibles and then shreds it before eating it.

They kill for pleasure; and they probably outnumber us!

Think I'm going to go with Himalayan Balsam, because it's not unattractive and can apparently be food. Creepily, I think, according to wiki "Eventually, if all goes well, this project will have the Himalayan Balsam financing its own eradication."

Plus good folk-names - 'kiss-me-on-the-mountain' and 'policeman's helmet'.
