Has anyone noticed bootlegged band t-shirts have become cheap clothing for pre-pubescent youngster's. Shacked up in a seaside town for the summer, i refer specifically to a one Slipknot IOWA t-shirt. Do the parents purchase these garments as soley cheap clothing from indoor markets and the like. Is there any recognition of the fact they are slipknot t-shirts at all. Do ther parents know who Slipknot are, any level headed person would surely understand they arent rivaling the Littlewoods and Peacocks for quality clothing. Surely the deterent for buying your special under ten year old this sloganed clothing is in the slogan. Isnt this a bit backward and sinister?

Could be several different explanations. Maybe some just buy them because they're cheap and don't know/care about the slogan or logo. But many parents like to dress up their kids and live vicariously. Just because they look 'square' doesn't mean they don't have an idea of roughly what's going on pop culture-wise and don't enjoy projecting little fantasies onto their kids.

Picked up two Lollapalooza bootlegs shirts in 1991 inside the venue -- both were significantly better than the real ones. Not really your subject, but still...
