Sorely missed is Andrew Repasky McElhinney's A Chronicle of Corpses, one of the ten best films of the 00s. It surpasses even Ulmer in its loony pragmatism. Amongst these, definitely Merhige's almost as loony Shadow of the Vampire.

feeling my horror cred slip on this one.. For some reason, I didn't mind being so ignorant of the 1960s polls so much - prob b/c kitschy post-Hammer obscurities aren't really my bag, anyway. But 2000 should be squarely w/in my sphere of reference & yet it is not.

I have seen:
Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 - the worst
Final Destination - decent premise w/ quality gore/shock (tho the first sequel trumped it massively in those respects); still lame enough overall that I would feel like a lame-o voting for it
Shadow of the Vampire - decent enough, but not really a proper horror flick
What Lies Beneath - some quality tension & boo! moments, but mostly shit
