i have no idea where about 4/5ths of these places are. so long as i can reach em easily from King's Cross I'm happy.

dog latin, Friday, 30 September 2011 11:31 (fourteen years ago)

I thought this thread would be about the pub we were going to buy :(

Matt DC, Friday, 30 September 2011 11:32 (fourteen years ago)

The Pakenham looks pretty unobjectionable. I think I will vote.

Can we go somewhere with craft beer?

Can we go somewhere with craft beer? MORE THAN ONE CHOICE OF WINE no one ever thinks of the people who do not care about beer

lex pretend, Friday, 30 September 2011 12:35 (fourteen years ago)

stella is a kind of wine

mark s, Friday, 30 September 2011 12:37 (fourteen years ago)

Gary Numan, or Gary Fletcher (ken c), Friday, 30 September 2011 13:10 (fourteen years ago)

xxpost to be fair it is a "fancy a pint" event, rather than "care for a carafe"

The Craft Beer Co on Leather Lane has about 30-something beers on tap and a proper wine list. Pretty spacious as well, especially upstairs. And is in Zone 1 and striking distance from Euston/Kings Cross.

Matt DC, Friday, 30 September 2011 13:23 (fourteen years ago)

upstairs at CBC is INCREDIBLY noisy ftb every surface is made of polished mirrored metal or glass or glass paint and the other clientele are yakking shiny robots in reflective mirror hats and shades

also the light-fittings look like cthulhu's face and their reflections in the mirror clearly move and grow

mark s, Friday, 30 September 2011 13:27 (fourteen years ago)

sounds like the place to go

conrad, Friday, 30 September 2011 13:31 (fourteen years ago)

There is apparently a tiny robot in the ladies as well.

MORE THAN ONE CHOICE OF WINE no one ever thinks of the people who do not care about beer

Sorry for my aggressive demand of "can we go somewhere with craft beer"

Glad my subtext of "it MUST, I repeat MUST, have an awful wine selection" came through loud and clear.

We're now in a real pickle as we have to find a pub that unites those age old foes: good wine and good beer.

What to do!!!

Lexington but don't mind where as long as its reachable.

Sounds nice to have one of these again - might come along if I'm around...

pretty sure most pubs i've been to let you choose between red and white wine.

Gary Numan, or Gary Fletcher (ken c), Monday, 3 October 2011 14:57 (fourteen years ago)

and rosé is just red diluted with wine

mark s, Monday, 3 October 2011 15:07 (fourteen years ago)

i don't think i voted but tbh lex's house would probably be most convenient for me. anyone else want to contribute and make it a tie?

Disappointed we will miss out on Lex's home catering.

Stevie T, Friday, 7 October 2011 09:54 (fourteen years ago)

i didn't even vote Hitchin!

dog latin, Friday, 7 October 2011 09:56 (fourteen years ago)

lex's house would totally have won if we used AV

Gary Numan, or Gary Fletcher (ken c), Friday, 7 October 2011 10:00 (fourteen years ago)

I had totally expected Lex's house or Hitchin to win this.
