Who Would You Vote For?

I thought about adding William Russell and Joe Cantwell (The Best Man), and I know you could have a massive poll with dozens of movie politicians. But these are the three films I care about most. I'm a '70s guy.

Poll Results

OptionVotes
Hal Phillip Walker (Nashville) 4
Bill McKay (The Candidate) 3
Charles Palantine (Taxi Driver) 1

Advance polls suggest a low turnout for this one.

McKay: "There's got to be a better way."
Palantine: "I have learned more about America from riding in taxi cabs than in all the limos in the country."
Walker: "When you pay more for an automobile than it cost Columbus to make his first voyage to America, that's politics."

Surprised--can't find any Palantine clips.

Palantine reminds me too much of Jon Huntsman, so I can't vote for him.

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

I guess I better vote--Herman Cain symmetry aside, 0-0-0 won't look good. I've got to go with Walker. McKay has the best looking wife, Palantine has the most interesting would-be assassin, but HPW is Perot and Ron Paul and Andy Griffith's Lonesome Rhodes all rolled into one.

Did you ever ask a lawyer the time of day? He told you how to make a watch, didn't he? Ever ask a lawyer how to get to Mr. Jones' house in the country? You got lost, didn't you? Congress is composed of five hundred and thirty-five individuals. Two hundred and eighty-eight are lawyers. And you wonder what's wrong in Congress. No wonder we often know how to make a watch, but we don't know the time of day.

Doesn't get more liberal than an early '70s Calif Dem, so I went with McKay with the added bonus that he will turn into Beatty's Bulworth.
