I have a copper tea kettle that was my grandma's, and it has blackened oil spots all over it from a series of thoughtless roommates cooking around it. I guess it's kind of old and battered and loved-looking, but my cleaning heart will not rest until I see if I can get some of them off.
Magic eraser? Submerge and soak in bucket of boiling ammonia water?

My mother would use lemon juice and baking soda to clean her Mexican copper plates and decor but not sure how corrosive that is in the long run. Her things still look good and she would clean them twice a year or so this way.
