for pretty much everybody I know "cool" is common coin, but what's yr most commonly-used single exclamation for something you like/something that pleases you/something you're showing approval of/something you think is really good & worthy of praise?

I thought it was v. cool that one of the threads offered me as a possible post-on-this-thread instead was an old anthony e. one called "your genitals"

I say "awesome" a lot and it makes me feel like a total dude but...I can't stop.

Yeah, awesome has to be the one I use most.

Sometimes I like to sing "it's awesome!" and it's too damn bad you all cannot hear me.

if something really exciting & special happens i might say 'happy days'

carpy deems (darraghmac), Tuesday, 10 January 2012 01:01 (thirteen years ago)

in america that phrase is used more w/r/t tv show recommendations

I have also taken to saying "fabulous" but not really as an adjective, mostly as an acknowledgement that the other person in conversation just said something awesome, or said something about an awesome thing. You know what I mean! In reaction to others' fabulous events and ideas.

KEEN

A college professor of mine once called a piece of music "awesome," and then caught himself, realizing that the word doesn't have the gravity it used to. He said, "Now, when I say 'awesome,' I mean it in the sense before people started to use that word to refer to pizza."

but pizza is so awesome

I feel bad for overusing superlatives, mostly in situations where I don't actually think something is awesome but I'll say it to go along with what someone is saying

I feel really hollow when saying it

bob loblaw people (dayo), Tuesday, 10 January 2012 01:06 (thirteen years ago)

that said "fabulous" showed up because I feel like Spicoli telling my students that their answers are "awesome"

no more mr. nice girls (Abbbottt), Tuesday, 10 January 2012 01:06 (thirteen years ago)

there's a certain cadence to it too - like "oh that's awesome. that's cool. that's really awesome. awesome."

bob loblaw people (dayo), Tuesday, 10 January 2012 01:06 (thirteen years ago)

u should all try 'mighty' for size imo

carpy deems (darraghmac), Tuesday, 10 January 2012 01:07 (thirteen years ago)

capital idea

omar little, Tuesday, 10 January 2012 01:08 (thirteen years ago)
