Help me find a word!

I'm trying to think of a word that may or may not sound like progeny and prodigy but sort of means student or follower and is the sort of opposite to mentor.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Can anyone help me, or direct me to an online thesaurus that does antonyms as well as synonyms?

In Roman times there was no letter 'J'. 'I' had to do double duty. 'I' is therefore a proto-'J'.

No, no, Boxcubed: thay had not invented lowercase letters in those days. This is because they went around SHOUTING AT EACH OTHER ALL THE TIME, so lowercase was unnecessary.

Not for my mother!

I found someone whose ... I wanted to be.

It was the whole 1984 thing, if I didn't know the word for it I couldn't conceptualise it properly either. The word prodigy was jumping into the blank space and images of a young boy in tails playing a grand piano crossfaded with the Firestarter video clip kept on getting in the way of my thoughts.

Also I was trying to write a blog entry about it and I was having a lot of trouble expressing myself.
