"Blue" Meme Tyranny (WmC), Thursday, 26 January 2012 01:29 (fourteen years ago)

10 year old Opel Astra. can hardly afford to put petrol in it, though at the same life is too depressing to consider without having a car now.

Michael B Higgins (Michael B), Thursday, 26 January 2012 01:32 (fourteen years ago)

No car. I got no car.

Jeff, Thursday, 26 January 2012 01:34 (fourteen years ago)

I wish my iGo car was a little newer though. It's getting really beat down.

Our Honda Civic just turned 18 years old (162,000 miles). Our Subaru is 15 years old (109,000 miles). We bought both of them new. They remain reliable cars. Good mpg, too. The Honda regularly gets above 40 mpg in the summer. (/proud dad)

Aimless, Thursday, 26 January 2012 01:40 (fourteen years ago)

civics rule. total road-dog beater cars.

m white btw (get bent), Thursday, 26 January 2012 01:42 (fourteen years ago)

I Love Cars is for people who think of cars as something other than a method for getting from one place to another. That leaves me out. But I would follow the thread if it were moved to I Love Engineering and Design.

Current car is a 1993 Accord. Just passed 200K miles and still going strong. My last car was practically an antique- close to 30 years old when it got totalled.

Mine is NEW and very very FAST only it doesn't look it so you don't know until you have been overtaken by a sad middle-aged dude in a tiny-looks-new-but-doesn't-look-very-fast car.

wife car 13, I no car.

Planning on changing it this year, it's been almost perfectly reliable until the last 12 months but has had a couple of breakdowns (on busy roads) which have knocked our confidence in "Little Red".

15/16 years old - '96 Toyota Supra. Currently has a kinda flat drivers side front tyre (slow puncture), and and even flatter battery - think I left the door slightly ajar when I last used it many days ago and the inside light killed the battery.

CraigG, Thursday, 26 January 2012 12:13 (fourteen years ago)

Drove a 1982 Mercedes 300 TDT until a year ago (it had become a bottomless money pit, but I did drive in my all time fave car for 2.5 years so the investments until then had been worth it. At least that's what I kept telling myself. Sold it at a huuuuge loss though). Had about 330K km on the counter. Been driving a 2007 Volvo C30 since then. Love it. At 130K now. Both diesels. I love diesel engines.

My last car would be 12 years old, which is weird because I still think of it as "my new car." (It was new when I bought it.)

My 12 year old Mazda just died recently, probably for good. So my wife and I are a one-car household, driving a 4 year old Toyota Corolla.

Our 1994 Honda Civic died last year. We replaced it with a 2015 Prius. Our 1997 Subaru is still running fine.
