I CAN'T STAND IT THIS COLD!!! (this will be a short thread,timewise, hopefully)

it's a bit cold outside.

Love it? Hate it? Wearing lots of wollies? Or are ye from the NorthEast and out in t-shirts ye soft southern shandy drinkers?

It's cold, so I'm staying indoors and wearing more clothes.

It's the fucking wind that does it, tbh.

It's all about the hats right now. Wish I had something a bit more stylish that my shit wooly one, but at least it stops my brain from freezing.

I made myself a new hat this week, just in time for the cold snap! Mostly though, I am bringing the laptop to bed and working from under the duvet.

oh my god i had to get night buses from waterloo to hackney at 4am last night and we JUST missed one and i thought i was gonna die it was that cold

i've actually skipped my run this week cuz i couldn't face going outside, and i am really resentful that i appear to have social engagements on this weekend that involve leaving the house :(

Yeah, the wind is the problem. It's not far north of zero in London but feels more unpleasant than St Petersburg which was in the -18 to -24 range at the weekend.

We've been on an incredibly warm spell lately. Nearly 60 degrees earlier this week, which is unheard of for Chicago at the end of January. We're usually around 5 below at this point or digging out from piles of snow.

The open air ice skating rinks have opened here, we had quite some snow today and it's been freezing -10 in the night for about a week now. I quite like it tbh, especially these days where it's cold yet with a bright sun shining.

I left the kitchen window open a bit (as I always do) and found my tap frozen wtf. It was -22 here last night.

I got water upstairs, put the kettle on and slowly let the boiling water run over the tap, which did the trick. I felt very practical and constructive and diy-y :)

Highs have been in the mid-60s all week, 72 predicted for tomorrow.

It has been a crazily warm winter in Georgia. If we don't get a few hard frosts before spring, the insect population will devour us all. After we have died from pollen.

fuckin ell. in borough market there's a stall that sells little iced fruit drinks, every time i've been there this winter they've been manfully still going.

i have been procrastinating over my work today which means that i can't go out tonight which means i get to stay indoors. damn.

also if one sleeps in thermal underwear one literally has no motivation to get dressed the next day

odd weather here tonight, was exactly 0 degrees C. and it was raining all day, but left icicles everywhere, and i mean everywhere, but whilst still raining.

Actually looked extremely pretty, all melting now though.

0 deg C here as well, looks like all the snow will melt by early tomorrow PM at the latest.

-1 here, we got a fair bit of snow, just been out in the yard with one of our cats who was confused, shivering cold but v happy

I can't shake a chill I have today. I was out for a long run earlier and just can't warm up after it. And it's not even that cold here.

Had to go get some contact lens solution today and I asked the optician if he didn't have thicker winter contacts against the cold. His "wait, is this something real I'm not selling?" look was hilarious, but it only took him about .5 seconds to realize it was lol joeks.

Been spring since January here in east Texas. Got to experience snow and some icy conditions back in October and November in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
