"Ephemeral" films

A fantastic place - hi res video files of about 1,500 "ephemeral" (advertising, amateur, industry and educational) films from the 1900's to the 1970's, in Div-X, Video CD and MPEG2 formats. Loads of really bizarre and campy stuff - most remarkable finds so far are a faked film about how in the early 1940's Russian scientests supposedly brought dead dogs back to life (apparently it was a peculiar US/UK propaganda thing), and a fantastic newsreel affair from the 1920's where a winner of a newspaper contest gets to have one of her dreams made into a short film! Wonderful stuff.

OH YES. That place is a godsend. I swear, you have to watch "One Got Fat" RIGHT AWAY. It is several kinds of fucked up.

"Consuming Women (Women As Consumers)" is a must-see. Very late sixties, with a lead actress that hams it up something bad.

It should be noted that they have a decent-sized handful of films that've been showcased on MST3K, though "Century 21 Calling" just isn't the same without Mike Nelson remarking that the closing theme song "sounds like something from Side 5 of Sandinista!".
