I saw the end of 'she's gotta have it' on tv today, and in the credits they thank the product placement sponsors. at the end was 'NABISCO'. I kept seeing it as world-famuous ilx poster nabisco and then 'oh and I guess that's a food company too'! mr abebe has successfully culture jammed I guess.

I think this means there is hope for eliminating brand intrusion into ever more remote corners of our cultural landscape etc.

What it means is that we should name our children after famous brand names, so that if the child becomes as well-known as the brand name, the product will be in advertisement for the child. (I don't think you can be sued for trademark infringement if you name your child "Toyota," can you?)

Archie Comics did try to sue a man couple years ago ['98? it's sunday + i'm too lazy to check] for copyright infringement. He registered veronica.com for his newborn daughter named, of course, Veronica.
