If you could constantly hear a loop of the guitar riff from "Cult of Personality," how long would it take you go to go insane?

Just the guitar riff, on a loop, at a level that is loud enough that it is audible, but not so loud that it becomes difficult to hear other things. Other people can only hear it within your vicinity, like you're carrying around a small transistor radio that only plays the riff from "Cult of Personality" by Living Colour. How long before you go completely insane?

This was the first lick I ever learned on guitar. I have been jamming the breakdown from Open Letter to a Landlord lately.

things you're secretly kinda libertranny about (beachville), Monday, 13 February 2012 18:07 (thirteen years ago)

It's mostly widdly-widdly-widdly, so I think I can tune it out pretty easily. And tbh this is what it sounds like in my mind 24/7 anyway.

tbh the lyrics annoy me more than the riff

equating joseph stalin and mahatma gandhi b/c both had a "cult of personality" = the birth of the challops

sorry I missed this

Voted five years. I can endure annoying shit for a long time. Also, Eisbaer and NV OTM (and I really like the song).

I would go insane in less than an hour because I would want to hear the drums come in & THEY NEVER WOULD

Did you guys know we had a Nutri-Grain ad here for years and years and years that used this very riff? So in a way, I was subjected to it constantly, if "being on the TV a lot" counts.

Lindsay NAGL (Trayce), Thursday, 16 February 2012 00:31 (thirteen years ago)

In fact I cant even thikn of the song anymore without hearing a voice sternly shouting PROTEIN! CORN! OATS! WHEAT! IRON! over it.

In high school drama class while rehearsing we had to endure the cover band scheduled to play during intermission rehearse "Glamour Boys" over and over. I like "Glamour Boys" though.

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 16 February 2012 00:33 (thirteen years ago)

to clarify my vote, any riff looped in my head would drive me crazy w/in less than a day, so i dont mean to pass judgement on these dudes in particular

is "Solace of You" from the second album? That's a good one too.

"Solace of You" was a jam.

I was singing this while I was cleaning the house this weekend. I have no idea why.

Trying to figure out what song the riff rips off... it's Zeppelin? Something off Physical Graffiti?
