The Now Show is possibly the worst thing ever broadcast in the English language

Terrific Culture Show special on Jeremy Deller from a couple of days ago, he comes across as almost completely free of the guff that so many other artists feel compelled to spout about their work. The bit where the brass band play "Pacific 202" gave me goosebumps too.

Really enjoyed the BBC4 "Joy Of Disco" programme on Friday night. Nothing particularly new or insightful but a good hour of fun.

two weeks pass...

I haven't seen this yet but it looks great. A six-part series about the Tube!

I also haven't heard this yet but Alan Dein is a genius so I suspect every episode of this will be brilliant -

Okay so Ep1 of BBC4's latest ScandiCrime series 'The Bridge' was p enjoyable. I'm kinda in love with Saga, the lead detective, already.

pandemic, Monday, 23 April 2012 11:44 (thirteen years ago)

Ha! I just mentioned this on the Killing thread.. Saga is an interesting one.

mmmm, Monday, 23 April 2012 21:07 (thirteen years ago)

i tried watching Borgen, but it seemed like the political parts of the Killing with everything else removed and i just can't envision watching an entire season of that

this looks good though, and I love the actor with the beard who came into the Killing for the last couple of episodes as the senior police dude who wanted to arrest sarah linden

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Tuesday, 24 April 2012 12:31 (thirteen years ago)

OK i just finished the first ep of Borgen and man the Danes really know how to do this type of TV

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Sunday, 29 April 2012 22:06 (thirteen years ago)

not that it's on iPlayer but i don't think there's a Borgen thread

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Sunday, 29 April 2012 22:07 (thirteen years ago)

So Episode 3 of 'The Bridge'. No idea how things tie in with Stefan, he of the cowboy walk, etc. But the new character, teenage shoplifter girl, broke my heart.

six years pass...

The Bridge is back and is on BBC2. i don't know why.

There have been tons of these in the 6 years since the thread was updated. Inspector Montalbano (and the prequel) is the only one i've found unwatchable.

koogs, Thursday, 3 May 2018 14:35 (seven years ago)

The young montalbano was the most hilarious low-stakes crime drama I've ever seen (about ten minutes of). This week montalbano investigates the case of the missing sardine tin!
