Um, Bill Murray?

dead-trius (Eric H.), Monday, 27 February 2012 19:50 (thirteen years ago)

(Plus the other, much inferior, Joan Cusack nomination)

dead-trius (Eric H.), Monday, 27 February 2012 19:50 (thirteen years ago)

voted Quaid

Darin, Monday, 27 February 2012 19:54 (thirteen years ago)

Murray's never been nominated right? ridic

Literal Facepalms (Dr Morbius), Monday, 27 February 2012 19:58 (thirteen years ago)

Murphy was supp btw

Literal Facepalms (Dr Morbius), Monday, 27 February 2012 19:59 (thirteen years ago)

Oh, that's who George Coe is:

Coe was also an original member of the "Not Ready For Prime Time Players," the original cast of Saturday Night Live, but he was only credited as a cast member for the first three shows (October 11, 18, and 25 of 1975), often as an announcer in fake commercials. Coe was used in several other episodes of SNL, but was never again credited.

curmudgeon, Monday, 27 February 2012 19:59 (thirteen years ago)

Murray was nominated for Best Actor, Lost in Translation.

justfanoe (Greg Fanoe), Monday, 27 February 2012 20:01 (thirteen years ago)

And he split right after losing.

Let A Man Come In And Do The Cop Porn (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Monday, 27 February 2012 20:02 (thirteen years ago)

it's weird to think of Downey only having one Oscar nomination and no wins his whole career so far

DNRIYHM NATION 1814 (some dude), Monday, 27 February 2012 20:05 (thirteen years ago)

Voted Quaid from the list but, um, Bill in Lost in Translation all the way

I Fucked Up (jer.fairall), Monday, 27 February 2012 20:09 (thirteen years ago)

Downey will get his for Iron Man 3.

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 27 February 2012 20:11 (thirteen years ago)

it's weird to think of Downey only having one Oscar nomination and no wins his whole career so far

Yeah, especially since he was nominated twice.

dead-trius (Eric H.), Monday, 27 February 2012 20:11 (thirteen years ago)

oh that's right, he was nommed for Tropic Thunder! that was awesome! still, i would've thought that'd be more than just his 2nd nom ever.

DNRIYHM NATION 1814 (some dude), Monday, 27 February 2012 20:16 (thirteen years ago)

Pretty sure this poll's omissions were designed for the sole purpose of driving jaymc insane.

dead-trius (Eric H.), Monday, 27 February 2012 20:20 (thirteen years ago)

for what, though? Two Girls And A Guy? xpost

da croupier, Monday, 27 February 2012 20:20 (thirteen years ago)

RDJ's one of those respected actors who haven't rocked that many respected movies. Says something that one is for a biopic no one cared about and the other is for a comedy no one would normally throw oscar love too.

da croupier, Monday, 27 February 2012 20:21 (thirteen years ago)

Downey should've been nominated and won for Black & White.

dead-trius (Eric H.), Monday, 27 February 2012 20:21 (thirteen years ago)

a good portion of his respect is for not being dead at this point tho, isn't it?

well yeah that's kind of what i mean -- obviously oscar nods aren't a great measure of the quality of someone's body of work but it goes without saying that his never really caught up to his rep

DNRIYHM NATION 1814 (some dude), Monday, 27 February 2012 20:30 (thirteen years ago)

I forgot murray!

The shitty Oscars said Wiig was the ninth cast member to get a nom. I researched this list and stopped at nine. Oscars are wrong as fuck.

Whiney G. Weingarten, Monday, 27 February 2012 20:45 (thirteen years ago)

Or, conversely, I can't count to nine :/

Whiney G. Weingarten, Monday, 27 February 2012 20:45 (thirteen years ago)

this thread sucks anyways, play me off forks

Whiney G. Weingarten, Monday, 27 February 2012 20:45 (thirteen years ago)

this thread does kinda make me want to do a poll of actors who got oscar nods for a COMEDY comedy like bridesmaids, tropic thunder, etc.

DNRIYHM NATION 1814 (some dude), Monday, 27 February 2012 21:06 (thirteen years ago)

shocking

Whiney G. Weingarten, Monday, 27 February 2012 21:13 (thirteen years ago)

times when you can make fun of me for starting poll threads: now right now

DNRIYHM NATION 1814 (some dude), Monday, 27 February 2012 21:17 (thirteen years ago)

Downey was a surprisingly lively Chaplin despite the Attenboredom

Literal Facepalms (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 28 February 2012 00:36 (thirteen years ago)

Forks, come in this thread and lock it

Whiney G. Weingarten, Tuesday, 28 February 2012 03:04 (thirteen years ago)

He will just change the title tbh

Nicholas Pokémon (silby), Tuesday, 28 February 2012 03:08 (thirteen years ago)

Ascot Fitzgerald (jaymc), Tuesday, 28 February 2012 03:17 (thirteen years ago)

Literal Facepalms (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 28 February 2012 03:19 (thirteen years ago)

Cusack was also nominated for In & Out, btw.

Ascot Fitzgerald (jaymc), Tuesday, 28 February 2012 03:20 (thirteen years ago)

(Although I couldn't stand her in it.)

Michael McKean - A Mighty Wind (Best Original Song, 1994)

JIM THOMETHEUS (zachlyon), Monday, 26 March 2012 01:15 (thirteen years ago)

Eddie Murphy was nominated for Best Actor?

President Keyes, Monday, 26 March 2012 13:28 (thirteen years ago)

o i see

President Keyes, Monday, 26 March 2012 13:28 (thirteen years ago)

i don't remember a mighty wind coming out in 94? i had barely even heard of spinal tap at that age.

humba (NZA), Monday, 26 March 2012 20:30 (thirteen years ago)

A Mighty Wind = 2004

Johnny Fever, Monday, 26 March 2012 20:37 (thirteen years ago)

maybe its one of those things where the song was actually first written/recorded in 1994

humba (NZA), Monday, 26 March 2012 20:45 (thirteen years ago)

Nope, I think Whiney just fucked up.

Cuba Pudding, Jr. (jaymc), Monday, 26 March 2012 20:47 (thirteen years ago)
