Great way to start March break: nursing the tooth. I always think of the same three movies when I'm like this. All three are wildly different, and they're all good-to-great, I think. I'll probably catch hell for overlooking W.C. Fields or Roger Corman or something else, but these are my favourite toothache-related movies. Heads-up: my occasional polls tend to be won with three or four votes. Your vote will not be wasted.

The only one I could watch while actually in the throes of a toothache (truthfully, I have a hard time doing much of anything if it's a bad one; what I've got right now is manageable) would be Lolita--MM and Affliction would both be unbearable.

After I posted this, I regretted not including "Is it safe?" in the title. Recycling a story I've told elsewhere: years ago, another guy in my school and I would send this funny kid Andrel (maybe seven at the time) back and forth to ask each other if it was safe. "Mr. Z________ wants to know: 'Is it safe?'" Next day: "Mr. D________ wants to know: 'Is it safe?'"
