classic or dud

Classic for the scene where a topless Julie Warner steps out of the lake. The rest of the film is light and fluffy and kind of fun. Michael J Fox was made for this kind of role.

Haven't see it since it was new, and I remember being kinda meh on it even then.
Cars was essentially a (crap) remake of it, wasn't it?

I saw this but have no memory of it.

I bought this cheap on DVD because I had fond memories of it. On rewatching it's a very slight, if charming, tale.I thought Woody Harrelson and Bridget Fonda were pretty good in small roles.

I vaguely remember the movie, but I have NO RECOLLECTION WHATSOEVER of Julie Warner topless. Must rescreen.

Saw this in theater on release. Remember these things: topless scene, MJFox drives some kinda city boy fast car , big city-small town collision of sensibilities, happy resolution to the collision, the end.

Not only do I remember her topless, but I recall being surprised they let her go topless in a PG movie back then. I suppose it's all about context.

True story: my car broke down in Micanopy, the town where Doc Hollywood was filmed, on a Sunday. Miraculously, there was a garage open near the exit. I unloaded my bike and rode around town, which is very small. I went to an old graveyard, a bookstore, and a restaurant that uses locally-sourced ingredients. The neighborhoods are nice. Old Florida. Lots of shady narrow streets and Spanish moss, and lots of houses up on bricks with whitewashed wooden crosshatch slats lining their lower parts to keep raccoons from living underneath.
