Toy Story 2, Fletch and Man With Two Brains all on my top 100 ballot but none of them were first place votes for me. If I had to pick one of those three, probably Toy Story 2, which is genuinely hilarious.

The Ladykillers (Alec Guinness!) edging out Beyond the Valley of the Dolls; I've been meaning to watch Hollywood Shuffle/Toy Story 2/Black Cat, White Cat/OSS 117 though.

Black Cat, White Cat was my #1 so that. The first time I watched it was my archetypal instance of the student <mind=blown> experience and probably the most I've ever laughed at a film.

That was me, and I'm having a hard time imagining what's so weird about that -- this movie is kind of universally critically beloved, isn't it? I agree there are not that many people who, like me, think it's funnier than Airplane! (my #4) but it's surely no less weird than thinking Blades of Glory or Fletch are funnier than Airplane!.

Blades of Glory is the most o_O thing to get a #1 vote. maybe Kanye posts here after all.

City Lights is the only serious choice

Unserious edge to Rock 'n' Roll High School over Love and Death. City Lights would be my #3; like Metropolitan, haven't seen most of these.

Ah. sorry, I misread the initial post, I thought these movies received a single #1 vote and nothing else.

Also, I don't get why people are so baffled by the BoG votes - have you actually seen the movie? It's funny, touching, and also subtly critical of dominant gender norms.

Went for Toy Story 2 but thinking maybe Step Brothers was a better option.

if there's one thing i look for in a comedy film, it's subtle criticism of dominant gender norms.

having said that, i'm struggling to comprehend BoG and "subtle" in the same sentence.

voted oss 117 as my #1 in the poll, voting again for it.

xp to eisbaer, i voted for the rio one quite high too but to me the first one will always remain better just due to the fact that i had no idea what to expect when it came out. by the time the second was out, all my friends and i were eagerly anticipating it, so higher expectations might've slightly hindered its potential as funniest.

That's why I said "and also"; it wasn't the main thing going for BoC, but it was a nice surprise, especially considering it came out around the same time as conservative-at-heart comedies like Knocked Up.

Hollywood Shuffle is the only one to make my ballot, so it was an obv choice, but I love Slapshot, Ladykillers and Beyond, too.

I liked everything about Blades that didn't involve Jon Heder, but a lot involved Jon Heder.

Voted Showgirls, as it was my number one.

Getting the impression that each of these films will get one vote from the person who put the film at the top of their ballot. My breath is bated for the results!

I need to watch or rewatch, not sure which, Hollywood Shuffle.
I rewatched The Great Muppet Caper quite recently and agree that it was very enjoyable. I don't think I would put it above The Muppet Movie though.
I wasn't expecting so many full body shots of the Muppets, including a few which were evidently of humans in Muppet costumes. I found it a bit creepy.(This is just an aside, nothing to do with voting for it or not)

Blades Of Glory is perfectly aight but the most generous possible ranking i could imagine anyone giving it is 4th or 5th best Will Ferrell movie and obv having that many WF movies on your ballot would be insane
