It's a documentary series following a group of girls at St Hilda's College, Oxford throughout their three year courses. The first episode was shown last Sunday. Did anyone else apart from Sam and I see it? What did you think of it if you did?

Is it anything like Girls Gone Wild?

I thought it was good although it was shot in an incredibly annoying way. As though it was a Morse episode. I thought the shots were beautiful, but I didn't see the point of them because the atmosphere was totally wrong. Apart from that, I thought it was much much more honest and "real" than I thought it would be. That protester girl came across as being more and more human as it went on. And the Asian med student was the object of much pity in our sitting room, poor thing.

It launched our slightly drunken sitting room into a huge argument about tuition fees, which is successful television as far as I'm concerned. It wasn't clear to me if the rest of the series was going to focus on just the same three girls - I would definitely prefer to see some others as well.

I saw some of it. The girl moaning about fees, with the Socialist Worker party parents annoyed me slightly. She's maried a tory.

I wasn't really concentrating on it but then every time I did it was some boring girl going on about fees and I couldn't be bothered.

One thing that struck me as funny and a bit sad was when the fee girl shouted 'don't call me an idealist! why does everyone call me an idealist?' She clearly was one, and should have been proud of it.

So to speak.

Good programme. And Archel is SO right. I look forward to the second installment. I believe other girls are going to be featured.

Ha ha. I wonder what Laura (the SWP fee-non-payer) thinks of this prog now she's married a Tory.

The second one was on last night (14/9/'02). I see why all these loony lefties want to grab a machinegun and begin the revolution now.

Well, I was *marginally* less irritated by it this week. I only saw the second half and apart from the revelation that Lucy Aitken = Glory it was pretty mediocre. At least Laura PB didn't make an appearance.

I hope the upcoming episodes featuring Tash and Dana are better. They are both absolute stars IRL and I don't want them to come across badly on telly.

keep meaning to video this. I have a friend who was jcr president at hildas when College Girls was being filmed so I'm pretty sure she'll put in an apppearance.
