two years pass...

This seems to be the closest I can find to a what's-good-about-the-internet? thread (at least through eight screens of search results), or as Homer once said, "Internet, I love you." I noticed my gas wouldn't stop clicking this afternoon, even though all burners were turned off. (It's an old stove.) Never having encountered this before, I was panicked--I didn't think I'd be able to leave the house until I got someone in to look at it, and that that would involve an expensive bill, maybe even a new stove. But if gas was involved, I couldn't leave the house.

Took about a minute of Googling ("gas stove keeps clicking") to find out that this is often caused by spills--oh; I'd spilled a little soup just prior to noticing the click--and that it was no big deal, the clicking would go away as soon as the moisture dried. There was no danger, according to every page I looked it. A few hours later, I'm back from the library and the clicking is gone.

I've had the very same I'd bought a 'new' second hand cooker, and I too googled it and found out what it was! It'd been stored in a damp room for a while. After a couple of hours it was dry and hey presto. Yay internet!

That bomb-like ticking made me hella nervous though!

That was the most amusing thing about the sites I consulted. They all said, not a danger, just annoying. No--it wasn't that I was annoyed, it was the idea that if I left the house, it might blow up while I was gone.

Did that thing where I noticed I was tying my shoes and then forgot how to. Solved it the same way
