Pink AND Sleater-Kinney in Auckland

Just when I thought my life couldn't get any better, the world's greatest rock and roll band (copyright G. Marcus, 1996) are playing TWO shows at the Kings Arms, December 6-7.

Auckland is gonna rule in late November/early December - S-K, the Sugababes, Bob Mould and the almighty Pink in the space of eight days! (And Bon Jovi, but we'll try to ignore them for now.)

One of my students recently referred to me as a "wannabe male pseudo-feminist" for listing Sleater-Kinney as one of my favourite bands. Ordinarily, I'd be excited about their imminent arrival, but now I'm just nervous about my masculinity.

haha, I have no illusions about my (non)masculinity; this makes me a GENUINE male pseudo-feminist.

SleaterKinney are awesome live. I don't really like their albums, but if you get the chance to see them, go- they're wonderful.

I guess that sounded sarcastic, but it wasn't meant to - seriously, I've forgotten what they looked like and sounded like, I just have a vague impression.

She knows a good role model when she sees one.

Damn it, I was led to believe by the title of this thread that Pink and Sleater-Kinney would be on the same bill. Oh well.

I concur with this. actually, I have two of their albums and really like one of them, but live they really really kick arse. when there was a WhiNoR thread a while ago alleging that they were rub it was all cockfarmers who had never seen them live who posted. Coincidence - I think not.
