Sell me on your city

As I do from time to time, I'm getting a bit of an itch to try something new, or at least somewhere else. So...sell me on your city. Gimme pros, cons, and just shit you won't find anywhere else. Doesn't have to be music related at all, although a place with at least a couple decent shows a month would be nice.

Seriously though...a pros and cons list would be awesome. Let me have it!

What is your current city?

Jeff, Saturday, 12 May 2012 00:42 (thirteen years ago)

l.a.: warm weather, natural beauty, great film/music/art events to choose from every day, food from most cultures if not every culture (would trade one of our many taco trucks for a sit-down ukrainian dive like they have in NYC), your choice of compact urban sensorium or suburban picket fences (plenty of both). public transit and pizza are both improving here.

Zacata, It's helpful to know more about the customer to which one would sell a city. Where have you lived? Where do you currently live? Be as vague or detailed as you want.

Arlington proper:
pros - cheap, fast access to Fort Worth or Dallas
cons - 1960s-70s middle-class suburb that's grown to 400k people, no mass transit, hot as balls

Fort Worth:
pros - relatively cheap, a number of older areas that could be redeveloped into something interesting, a few good clubs for live music, impossible to get lost in, not Dallas
cons - still a lot of conservative dickbags running things, hot as balls, TCU students
