Dinosaurs vs. Aliens!

On the off chance this movie actually happens. Barry Sonnenfeld, Grant Morrison, insanity:

We're so excited about Dinosaurs Vs. Aliens. How are you and Grant Morrison going to make non-human creatures relatable to the audience?

Barry Sonnenfeld: First, we have to sell the project. We're going out to LA in about 6 weeks with a pre-vis and our script, to see who wants to buy into it. We've already had lots of ideas. The aliens speak in a way [that] you can understand them. And the dinosaurs — they actually have a certain amount of culture, through grunts and doing stuff with their bodies and sticks. We believe that the Dinosaurs had culture. They didn't speak, but they did have other ways of communicating. It won't be a problem, and it will be pretty fantastic.

in 10 years the summer movie schedule is going to be nothing but mix and match "vs." movies of existing intellectual properties and action movie staples

movies like this don't get made without lots of studio money and studio input, whether you consider that 'nurturing' or 'development' or 'interference.' i mean it's clearly a multiplex idea.

This vaguely reminds me of the original vision for The Dark Crystal. Come on, movie people! There are lots of Cocteau Twins fans in the world who won't get all hung up on an absence of "real words"!

i dont think there's any way in the world somebody is gonna give sonnenfeld a zillion dollars to do a movie ever again, let alone this one, but its about time hwood started throwing some money at Gmo

he has a movie with a $375 million budget coming out this week, but maybe you meant that's gonna tank and his name will be mud after that, which is possible but i dunno

Yeah, you're maybe about as weirdly OffTM about Sonnenfeld as you could could possibly be there, H4A, at least at this particular moment in time.

(Although most people would agree that he's directing MIB3 based solely on having directed the previous installments and not even a little bit based on the strength of his other directorial choices over the past decade.)
